هل كان مجرد «طيش شباب» أم تهديداً للأمن العام؟ القصة التي شغلت الرأي العام في مصر والخليج، عادت للواجهة اليوم بعد قرار قضائي بتخفيف عقوبة سائح خليجي متورط في مطاردة كادت تنتهي بكارثة في قلب القاهرة.
وأصدرت محكمة جنح مستأنف قصر النيل في القاهرة حكمًا بتخفيف العقوبة بحق السائح الكويتي «عبد الوهاب. ف» من ثلاث سنوات إلى سنة واحدة، في واقعة مطاردة «كوبري أكتوبر»، التي انتهت بإصابة عدد من رجال الشرطة وتلفيات واسعة في الطريق العام.
القضية التي بدأت كمخالفة مرورية عادية في صباح يوم 14 أغسطس 2025، تحولت سريعًا إلى مطاردة خطيرة داخل قلب القاهرة، بعد أن حاول سائق سيارة فارهة الفرار من نقطة تفتيش، رغم اكتشاف انتهاء رخصته وقيادته تحت تأثير مواد مسكرة، بحسب تحقيقات النيابة. ومع تصاعد الأحداث، واصل السائق القيادة بسرعة عالية عبر الكوبري، محطمًا الحواجز الحديدية ومسببًا أضرارًا في سيارات أخرى، قبل أن تتدخل قوات الأمن المصرية، وفقاً لمحاضر الشرطة.
وقالت وسائل إعلام مصرية إن ثلاثة من رجال الشرطة المصرية أصيبوا أثناء محاولة السيطرة على السيارة، وسط مقاومة عنيفة من السائق، الذي أظهرت التحقيقات لاحقًا وجود آثار لمواد مخدرة وكحول داخل جسده وداخل المركبة.
القضية أخذت بعدها القضائي، حيث وجهت له النيابة اتهامات تشمل القيادة تحت تأثير مواد مخدرة، ومقاومة السلطات، والتسبب في تلفيات بالممتلكات العامة والخاصة، وهو ما انتهى في الحكم الابتدائي إلى السجن لثلاث سنوات.
لكن محكمة الاستئناف قررت اليوم تخفيف العقوبة إلى سنة واحدة، مع الأخذ بالرأفة، في قرار أعاد تسليط الضوء على واحدة من أكثر حوادث الطرق جدلًا في القاهرة خلال الفترة الأخيرة.

The Misdemeanor Appeals Court of Qasr Al-Nil in Cairo issued a ruling to reduce the sentence of the Kuwaiti tourist "Abdul Wahab. F" from three years to one year, in the incident of the "October Bridge" chase, which resulted in injuries to several police officers and extensive damage on the public road.
The case, which began as a routine traffic violation on the morning of August 14, 2025, quickly escalated into a dangerous chase in the heart of Cairo after a driver of a luxury car attempted to flee from a checkpoint, despite the discovery that his license had expired and that he was driving under the influence of intoxicating substances, according to the prosecution's investigations. As events escalated, the driver continued to speed through the bridge, smashing through barriers and causing damage to other vehicles, before Egyptian security forces intervened, according to police reports.
Egyptian media reported that three Egyptian police officers were injured while trying to control the vehicle, amid violent resistance from the driver, who later investigations revealed had traces of narcotics and alcohol in his body and inside the vehicle.
The case took a judicial turn, as the prosecution charged him with offenses including driving under the influence of narcotics, resisting authorities, and causing damage to public and private property, which resulted in an initial judgment of three years in prison.
However, the appeals court decided today to reduce the sentence to one year, showing leniency, in a ruling that has brought renewed attention to one of the most controversial traffic incidents in Cairo in recent times.
