عاشت إحدى ضواحي باريس لحظات استثنائية بعد أن أعلنت السلطات الفرنسية نجاحها في تفجير قنبلة تعود إلى الحرب العالمية الثانية، عُثر عليها في ضاحية غربية بالعاصمة الفرنسية، ما أتاح عودة آلاف السكان إلى منازلهم عقب إخلاء احترازي استمر لساعات.
ووفقاً لما نقلته صحيفة «لو فيغارو» عن وكالة الأنباء الفرنسية، فقد تم اكتشاف القنبلة في 10 أبريل الجاري داخل موقع بناء بأحد أقاليم العاصمة، في واقعة تسلط الضوء على التحديات الكامنة تحت سطح المدن الأوروبية.
وأوضحت السلطات أن فرق المختصين حاولت نزع صاعق القنبلة، إلا أن تعذر ذلك دفعها إلى تنفيذ تفجير متحكم به، ودوى الانفجار عند الساعة 15:18 بالتوقيت المحلي، في ختام عملية دقيقة شاركت فيها عدة أجهزة أمنية.
وشملت الإجراءات إجلاء أكثر من ألف شخص ضمن نطاق أمني قُدّر بنحو 450 متراً حول موقع القنبلة، وتم نقلهم إلى مراكز إيواء مؤقتة في المناطق المجاورة، وسط ترتيبات خاصة لاستيعاب الفئات الأكثر احتياجاً للرعاية.
واستغرقت عملية الإخلاء نحو ثلاث ساعات ونصف، بينما بدأت عملية التعامل مع القنبلة في وقت متأخر من الصباح، قبل أن يُتخذ قرار التفجير كخيار أكثر أماناً بعد فشل محاولات تعطيل القنبلة.
ورغم اتخاذ تدابير احترازية للحد من تأثير الانفجار، من بينها تغطية الموقع بالرمال وتعزيز محيطه بهياكل داعمة، فقد خلّف التفجير موجة صوتية قوية شعر بها سكان المناطق القريبة.
وشارك مئات من عناصر الأمن في تأمين المنطقة، وفُرض طوق أمني واسع امتد لنحو كيلومتر واحد، مع منع التجمعات واستخدام وسائل مراقبة جوية تحسباً لأي طارئ، إلى جانب تعليق حركة بعض خطوط الحافلات خلال تنفيذ العملية.
وبحلول الساعة الرابعة مساءً، أعلنت السلطات انتهاء العملية بنجاح ورفع أوامر الإخلاء، مؤكدة أن المنطقة أصبحت آمنة بالكامل، ما سمح للسكان بالعودة إلى منازلهم.
وتعيد هذه الحادثة تسليط الضوء على المخاطر المستمرة للذخائر غير المنفجرة من الحرب العالمية الثانية، خصوصاً في المناطق الحضرية التي تشهد أعمال بناء متزايدة، وهو ما يذكّر بحوادث مشابهة شهدتها باريس خلال السنوات الأخيرة.
One of the suburbs of Paris experienced exceptional moments after French authorities announced the successful detonation of a bomb dating back to World War II, which was found in a western suburb of the French capital, allowing thousands of residents to return to their homes following a precautionary evacuation that lasted for hours.
According to what was reported by the newspaper "Le Figaro" from the French news agency, the bomb was discovered on April 10th inside a construction site in one of the capital's districts, highlighting the challenges lurking beneath the surface of European cities.
Authorities explained that specialized teams attempted to disarm the bomb, but the failure to do so led them to carry out a controlled detonation, which occurred at 15:18 local time, concluding a precise operation involving several security agencies.
The measures included the evacuation of more than a thousand people within a security perimeter estimated at about 450 meters around the bomb site, and they were transferred to temporary shelter centers in the neighboring areas, with special arrangements made to accommodate the most vulnerable groups in need of care.
The evacuation process took about three and a half hours, while the operation to deal with the bomb began late in the morning, before the decision to detonate it was made as a safer option after attempts to disable the bomb failed.
Despite precautionary measures taken to minimize the impact of the explosion, including covering the site with sand and reinforcing its surroundings with supportive structures, the detonation created a strong shockwave felt by residents of nearby areas.
Hundreds of security personnel participated in securing the area, and a wide security cordon was imposed extending about one kilometer, with gatherings prohibited and aerial surveillance measures in place in anticipation of any emergency, alongside the suspension of some bus lines during the operation.
By 4 PM, authorities announced the successful completion of the operation and lifted the evacuation orders, confirming that the area had become completely safe, allowing residents to return to their homes.
This incident highlights the ongoing risks posed by unexploded ordnance from World War II, especially in urban areas experiencing increased construction activity, reminding us of similar incidents that have occurred in Paris in recent years.
