حطم روبوت الرقم القياسي العالمي البشري، بالفوز في سباق نصف ماراثون للروبوتات، أقيم أمس في العاصمة الصينية بكين.
وقطع الروبوت الفائز المسافة بسرعة أكبر من الرقم القياسي العالمي البشري، وأكمل السباق البالغ طوله 21 كيلومتراً (13 ميلاً) في 50 دقيقة و26 ثانية، متفوقاً في ذلك على حامل الرقم القياسي العالمي البشري الأوغندي جاكوب كيبلومو، الذي أنهى المسافة نفسها في حوالى 57 دقيقة، في مارس الماضي.
ويمثل أداء الروبوت خطوة كبيرة إلى الأمام مقارنة بالسباق الافتتاحي العام الماضي الذي أنهى فيه الروبوت الفائز المسافة في ساعتين و40 دقيقة و42 ثانية، بينما شهد السباق العديد من العثرات، تمثلت إحداها في سقوط أحد الروبوتات عند خط البداية، واصطدم آخر بحاجز.
كما شهدت فعاليات هذا العام زيادة في أعداد المشاركات بمقدار خمس مرات تقريباً عن العام الماضي، مع انضمام أكثر من 100 فريق للمنافسة، بما في ذلك خمسة فرق من الخارج.
A robot has broken the human world record by winning a robot half marathon held yesterday in the Chinese capital, Beijing.
The winning robot covered the distance at a speed greater than the human world record, completing the 21-kilometer (13-mile) race in 50 minutes and 26 seconds, surpassing the human world record holder, Ugandan Jacob Kiplimu, who finished the same distance in about 57 minutes last March.
The robot's performance represents a significant step forward compared to last year's inaugural race, where the winning robot completed the distance in 2 hours, 40 minutes, and 42 seconds, while the race witnessed several mishaps, one of which involved a robot falling at the starting line, and another colliding with a barrier.
This year's event also saw a nearly fivefold increase in participation compared to last year, with over 100 teams joining the competition, including five teams from abroad.
