في قلب إسطنبول، شهدت مدينة الأضواء أمس مشهداً دموياً ومثيراً للجدل، حين شن مجهولان هجوماً مزدوجاً على شركة تأجير سيارات ومنازل مالكيها، في حادثة جمعت بين العنف المتعمد وإشعال النيران وسط شوارع مكتظة بالمارة.
ففي منطقة بيشكتاش الراقية، أقدم المهاجمان على إشعال النيران في موقف سيارات فارهة تابع للشركة، أمام أعين المارة، ما أدى إلى احتراق 15 سيارة بسرعة البرق. ولم يكتفيا بذلك، بل توجها لاحقاً إلى حي ليفنت حيث أطلقا وابلاً من الرصاص على منزل مالكي الشركة قبل أن يلوذا بالفرار على متن دراجة نارية، في حادثة لم تُسجل فيها أي إصابات بشرية.
وأظهرت مقاطع كاميرات المراقبة أن المهاجمين حرصا على إخفاء وجهيهما بارتداء خوذتي حماية، وسكبا مادة قابلة للاشتعال على السيارات، ما أسفر عن اندلاع الحريق الذي استدعى تدخل فرق الإطفاء للسيطرة عليه ومنع امتداده إلى المباني المجاورة.
وأكدت التحقيقات أن مالكي الشركة، سلجوق وزوجته ديليك، لديهما سجلات جنائية تشمل 64 قضية بحق سلجوق و37 قضية بحق ديليك، مرتبطة بتعاطي المخدرات، والاحتيال، ووقائع ضوضاء، وتهديدات بالقتل، ومقاومة السلطات، ما يضيف بعداً مثيراً للجدل حول دوافع الهجوم.
وتواصل الشرطة التركية تحقيقاتها لكشف هوية المنفذين وملابسات الحادث، بينما تداول مستخدمو مواقع التواصل مقاطع الفيديو على نطاق واسع مع موجة من التعليقات التي تنتقد عدم توقيف الجانيين حتى الآن.
In the heart of Istanbul, the city of lights witnessed a bloody and controversial scene yesterday when two unidentified assailants launched a double attack on a car rental company and the homes of its owners, in an incident that combined deliberate violence and arson in the midst of crowded streets.
In the upscale Besiktas district, the attackers set fire to a luxury car park belonging to the company, in front of passersby, resulting in the rapid burning of 15 cars. They did not stop there; they later headed to the Levent neighborhood where they unleashed a hail of bullets at the owners' home before fleeing on a motorcycle, in an incident that did not result in any human injuries.
Surveillance camera footage showed that the attackers took care to hide their faces by wearing protective helmets, and they poured a flammable substance on the cars, which led to the outbreak of the fire that required the intervention of firefighting teams to control it and prevent it from spreading to nearby buildings.
Investigations confirmed that the owners of the company, Selçuk and his wife Dilay, have criminal records that include 64 cases against Selçuk and 37 cases against Dilay, related to drug offenses, fraud, noise violations, death threats, and resisting authorities, adding a controversial dimension to the motives behind the attack.
Turkish police continue their investigations to uncover the identity of the perpetrators and the circumstances of the incident, while social media users widely circulated video clips along with a wave of comments criticizing the failure to apprehend the culprits so far.
