أعلن مكتب المدعي العام في باريس تشكيل فريق خاص من القضاة لتحليل الأدلة الواردة ضمن ما يُعرف بـ«ملفات إبستين»، التي نشرتها السلطات الأمريكية أخيراً، وذلك للتحقق مما إذا كانت تحتوي على معطيات قد تورط مواطنين فرنسيين في جرائم مرتبطة بالاعتداءات الجنسية على قاصرات أو جرائم مالية أخرى.
وأوضح المدعي العام، في بيان رسمي نقلته وكالة فرانس برس، أن الفريق سيعمل بالتنسيق مع النيابة الوطنية المالية، والمديرية الوطنية للشرطة القضائية، بهدف استخراج أي عناصر قابلة للاستخدام في إطار تحقيقات جديدة، وفتح تحقيقات رسمية إذا ثبت وجود جرائم محتملة تشمل فرنسيين.
إعادة فتح تحقيقات قديمة
كما أعلن المكتب إجراء إعادة تحليل شاملة لملف التحقيق الخاص بالفرنسي جان لوك برونيل، وكيل الأزياء السابق المقرب الشهير من جيفري إبستين، الذي توفي في السجن الفرنسي عام 2022 أثناء احتجازه بتهم الاغتصاب والاعتداء الجنسي على قاصرات.
وأكد مكتب المدعي العام أن الفريق الجديد يهدف إلى «استخراج أي قطعة يمكن إعادة استخدامها في إطار تحقيقي جديد»، مشدداً على أن التحليل يشمل جرائم ذات طابع جنسي أو مالي مثل غسل الأموال أو الاحتيال الضريبي.
وكان ملف برونيل قد أُغلق بقرار عدم مسؤولية بعد وفاته عام 2023، لكن الوثائق الأمريكية الجديدة دفعت إلى إعادة فتحه.
وثائق جديدة هزت العالم
في 30 يناير 2026، نشرت وزارة العدل الأمريكية أكثر من 3 ملايين صفحة من الوثائق المتعلقة بقضية جيفري إبستين، بناءً على قرار قضائي أثار جدلاً واسعاً.
وتضمنت الوثائق أسماء وعلاقات شخصيات بارزة، بما في ذلك فرنسيون، في شبكة إبستين الذي انتحر في سجنه عام 2019 أثناء محاكمته بتهم الاتجار الجنسي بالقاصرات واستغلالهن.
وأثارت الوثائق الجديدة اهتماماً كبيراً في فرنسا بعد ظهور أسماء مثل الدبلوماسي فابريس أيدان الذي يُشتبه في تقديمه وثائق سرية لإبستين، والموسيقي فريدريك شاسلان، ووكيل الأزياء دانيال سياد الذي تلقى شكوى جديدة من امرأة سويدية تتهمه بالاغتصاب في فرنسا عام 1990.
كما أدت الوثائق إلى استقالة رئيس معهد العالم العربي في باريس جاك لانغ من منصبه، بعد الكشف عن علاقات مالية سابقة مع إبستين عبر ابنته كارولين.
The Paris Public Prosecutor's Office announced the formation of a special team of judges to analyze the evidence contained in what is known as the "Epstein Files," which were recently published by U.S. authorities, in order to verify whether they contain information that could implicate French citizens in crimes related to sexual assaults on minors or other financial crimes.
The prosecutor clarified, in an official statement reported by Agence France-Presse, that the team will work in coordination with the National Financial Prosecutor's Office and the National Judicial Police Directorate, with the aim of extracting any elements that could be used in the context of new investigations, and to open official inquiries if potential crimes involving French citizens are confirmed.
Reopening Old Investigations
The office also announced a comprehensive re-analysis of the investigation file concerning Frenchman Jean-Luc Brunel, the former fashion agent close to Jeffrey Epstein, who died in a French prison in 2022 while being held on charges of rape and sexual assault on minors.
The Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that the new team aims to "extract any piece that can be reused in the context of a new investigation," emphasizing that the analysis includes crimes of a sexual or financial nature such as money laundering or tax fraud.
The Brunel file had been closed with a decision of non-responsibility after his death in 2023, but the new American documents prompted its reopening.
New Documents That Shook the World
On January 30, 2026, the U.S. Department of Justice released over 3 million pages of documents related to the Jeffrey Epstein case, based on a court ruling that sparked widespread controversy.
The documents included names and connections of prominent figures, including French citizens, in Epstein's network, who committed suicide in his prison in 2019 while on trial for charges of sex trafficking of minors and their exploitation.
The new documents generated significant interest in France after names such as diplomat Fabrice Aidan, who is suspected of providing confidential documents to Epstein, musician Frédéric Chaslin, and fashion agent Daniel Ciad, who received a new complaint from a Swedish woman accusing him of rape in France in 1990, emerged.
The documents also led to the resignation of Jacques Lang, the head of the Arab World Institute in Paris, from his position, following the revelation of previous financial ties to Epstein through his daughter Caroline.
