وأوضحت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية وعلم المناخ والجيوفيزياء الإندونيسية، أن الزلزال وقع على عمق 10 كيلومترات؛ مشيرةً إلى عدم ورود تحذيرات من احتمال حدوث أمواج مد عاتية «تسونامي».
ولم ترد حتى الآن تقارير عن وقوع أضرار مادية أو بشرية جراء الزلزال.
وتقع إندونيسيا على حزام المحيط الهادئ المعروف باسم «حلقة النار»، حيث تلتقي العديد من الصفائح التكتونية؛ مما يسبب نشاطاً بركانياً وزلزالياً متكرراً.
A 5.4 magnitude earthquake struck the island of Ilwakaratung - Solot in western Indonesia.
The Indonesian Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency stated that the earthquake occurred at a depth of 10 kilometers, noting that there were no warnings of a potential tsunami.
So far, there have been no reports of material or human damage resulting from the earthquake.
Indonesia is located on the Pacific Ring of Fire, where many tectonic plates meet, causing frequent volcanic and seismic activity.
