أثار موقع «لينكد إن» LinkedIn موجة انتقادات حادة من أوساط محافظة في الولايات المتحدة، بعد أن قام مؤقتًا بحذف منشور لجماعة ضغط محافظة دعمت فيه تشديد إجراءات الهجرة غير الشرعية التي يقودها الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب، قبل أن تعيد المنصة المنشور لاحقًا، مؤكدة أن الحذف تم (عن طريق الخطأ).
منشور يشعل الجدل
وكانت شبكة State Freedom Caucus Network (SFCN) نشرت في 27 يناير منشورًا على عدة منصات، من بينها X و LinkedIn، قالت فيه إن وزارة الأمن الداخلي الأمريكية تقوم بمهمة أساسية للحفاظ على أمن البلاد، منتقدة سياسات إدارة الرئيس السابق جو بايدن، التي زعمت أنها سمحت بدخول أكثر من 10 ملايين مهاجر غير شرعي إلى الولايات المتحدة.
وبحسب الشبكة، فإن منشورها بقي متاحًا على منصة X، لكنه صُنّف على LinkedIn على أنه «خطاب كراهية»، ما أدى إلى إزالته، ونشرت الجماعة لاحقًا لقطة شاشة توضح قرار الحذف، معتبرة ذلك دليلًا على انحياز المنصة ضد الأصوات المحافظة.
وعلّقت الشبكة بلهجة حادة قائلة: «يبدو أن حماية الأطفال تُعد كراهية، بينما يُسمح للمجرمين الحقيقيين بالتجول بحرية، مضيفة أنها قررت حذف حسابها من LinkedIn، ومقارنة سياسات المنصة بسياسات منصة X التي يديرها إيلون ماسك».
دعوات لمقاطعة «لينكد إن»
وسرعان ما تفاعل محافظون وناشطون على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي مع الواقعة، داعين إلى مقاطعة LinkedIn، ومتهمين الشركة، التي شارك في تأسيسها الملياردير الليبرالي ريد هوفمان قبل بيعها لمايكروسوفت، بممارسة الرقابة والتحيز السياسي.
وكتب عدد من المؤثرين المحافظين دعوات علنية لحذف الحسابات على المنصة، معتبرين أنها منصة إقصائية لا تحترم حرية التعبير، خصوصًا عندما يتعلق الأمر بآراء محافظة أو داعمة لسياسات أمنية صارمة.

في المقابل، قال متحدث باسم LinkedIn في تصريح لوسائل إعلام أمريكية إن المنشور «أُزيل عن طريق الخطأ، وتمت استعادته بسرعة»، مؤكدًا أن المحتوى لا يخالف سياسات المنصة.
تشكيك في الرد
من جانبه، أوضح أندرو روث، رئيس شبكة State Freedom Caucus Network، أنه تلقى إشعارًا عبر البريد الإلكتروني يفيد بأن المنشور يخالف السياسات، قبل أن تصله رسالة لاحقة تعتذر فيها الشركة عن الخطأ، إلا أنه شكك في التبرير، معتبرًا أن ما حدث يعكس استمرار ما وصفه بـ«الثقافة الإقصائية» داخل شركات التكنولوجيا الكبرى.
ويرى مراقبون أن الحادثة تعكس نمطًا متكررًا في تعامل منصات التكنولوجيا مع المحتوى السياسي، حيث قال دانيال كوكرين، الباحث في مؤسسة هيريتيج، إن ما جرى يمثل «النموذج المتوقع» لشركات التقنية الكبرى، والمتمثل في الرقابة أولًا، ثم الاعتذار لاحقًا.
وأضاف كوكرين أن أنظمة الإشراف على المحتوى تعمل غالبًا داخل صندوق أسود يفتقر إلى الشفافية والمساءلة، مشيرًا إلى أن التحيزات الليبرالية قد تكون مضمّنة في الخوارزميات، ما يؤدي إلى استهداف غير متكافئ للأصوات المحافظة.
وختم بالقول إن غياب المساءلة الحقيقية يجعل من الرقابة العشوائية سمة أساسية في عمل منصات التكنولوجيا الكبرى، وليست مجرد أخطاء عارضة.

A Controversial Post
The State Freedom Caucus Network (SFCN) published a post on January 27 on several platforms, including X and LinkedIn, stating that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security is undertaking a crucial mission to maintain the country's security, criticizing the policies of former President Joe Biden's administration, which it claimed allowed over 10 million illegal immigrants to enter the United States.
According to the network, its post remained available on the X platform, but it was classified on LinkedIn as "hate speech," leading to its removal. The group later published a screenshot showing the removal decision, considering it evidence of the platform's bias against conservative voices.
The network harshly commented, saying: "It seems that protecting children is considered hate, while real criminals are allowed to roam freely," adding that it decided to delete its account from LinkedIn, comparing the platform's policies to those of X, which is run by Elon Musk.
Calls to Boycott LinkedIn
Conservatives and activists quickly reacted on social media to the incident, calling for a boycott of LinkedIn and accusing the company, co-founded by liberal billionaire Reid Hoffman before its sale to Microsoft, of exercising censorship and political bias.
Several conservative influencers publicly called for deleting accounts on the platform, considering it an exclusionary platform that does not respect freedom of expression, especially when it comes to conservative opinions or support for strict security policies.
LinkedIn's Response
In contrast, a spokesperson for LinkedIn stated in a comment to U.S. media that the post "was removed by mistake and was quickly restored," emphasizing that the content does not violate the platform's policies.
Doubts About the Response
For his part, Andrew Roth, the head of the State Freedom Caucus Network, explained that he received an email notification stating that the post violated policies, followed by a subsequent message in which the company apologized for the error. However, he expressed skepticism about the justification, considering that what happened reflects the ongoing "exclusionary culture" within major tech companies.
Observers believe that the incident reflects a recurring pattern in how tech platforms handle political content, with Daniel Cochrane, a researcher at the Heritage Foundation, stating that what occurred represents the "expected model" for major tech companies, characterized by censorship first, followed by an apology later.
Cochrane added that content moderation systems often operate within a black box lacking transparency and accountability, pointing out that liberal biases may be embedded in algorithms, leading to uneven targeting of conservative voices.
He concluded by saying that the absence of real accountability makes random censorship a fundamental feature of major tech platforms, rather than just occasional mistakes.
