وخلال الحلقة، تحدثت غريغوار (50 عامًا) عن الطريقة التي تعاملت بها مع الأخبار المتعلقة بعلاقة ترودو (54 عامًا) وبيري (41 عامًا)، مشيرة إلى أن المشاعر الإنسانية طبيعية وتؤثر على الجميع. وقالت: «كما تعلمون نحن بشر والأمور تؤثر علينا. هذا أمر طبيعي».
واعترضت غريغوار على وصف مقدمة البودكاست لها بأنها «أم عزباء»، مؤكدة أنها تشارك في شراكة متينة مع والد أبنائها، الذي يكن اهتمامًا وحبًا كبيرًا لأطفالهم الثلاثة.
وكان ترودو وغريغوار أعلنّا انفصالهما في أغسطس 2023 بعد زواج دام 18 عامًا، ولديهما ثلاثة أطفال. وفي سبتمبر الماضي، التقطت صور لترودو وبيري، قبل الإعلان رسميًا عن علاقتهما تزامنًا مع عيد ميلاد بيري في أكتوبر.
وأكدت غريغوار أنها تدرك جيدًا أن الأمور العامة قد تكون محفزات قوية، مشددة على حقها في اختيار طريقها الشخصي. وقالت: «ما أفعله هو قراري. المرأة التي أريد أن أصبحها من خلال هذا هو قراري»، مضيفة أنها تسمح لنفسها بالشعور بالغضب والحزن وخيبة الأمل، معتبرة ذلك جزءًا أساسيًا من الاعتناء بالصحة النفسية.
Former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's ex-wife, Sophie Grégoire, broke her silence about her personal life in a recent podcast interview, after her name became associated with Trudeau's new relationship with American singer Katy Perry.
During the episode, Grégoire (50) talked about how she dealt with the news regarding Trudeau's (54) relationship with Perry (41), noting that human emotions are natural and affect everyone. She said, "You know, we are human and things affect us. This is normal."
Grégoire objected to the podcast host describing her as a "single mother," emphasizing that she is in a strong partnership with the father of her children, who has a great deal of care and love for their three kids.
Trudeau and Grégoire announced their separation in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage, and they have three children. Last September, photos were taken of Trudeau and Perry before their relationship was officially announced coinciding with Perry's birthday in October.
Grégoire confirmed that she is well aware that public matters can be strong triggers, stressing her right to choose her personal path. She said, "What I do is my decision. The woman I want to become through this is my decision," adding that she allows herself to feel anger, sadness, and disappointment, considering it an essential part of taking care of mental health.
