أيقظ العارض الصحي الطارئ على الدكتور «سعيد السريحي» مشاعر الكثيرين ممن استهواهم قلمه الرفيع وأدبه الجم واتساقه مع أفكاره والمدافعة عنها، فضلاً عن مساهماته الفكرية العميقة خلال ثلاثة عقود بالأبحاث والدراسات والجدالات الفكرية التي أظهرت نبوغه كأستاذ في التعليم ونجم في الصحافة ورمز في الحداثة.
الشاب النابه الذي تفتحت عيونه على تراث بحارة «حي الرويس»غربي محافظة جدة، اختار لنفسه الغوص في مسارات الثقافة والأدب والفنون، وأكمل تعليمه الجامعي في كلية الشريعة في جامعة أم القرى (لغة عربية)، عابراً إلى حقل التدريس في المدارس العامة والجامعة قبل أن تأخذه مهنة البحث عن المتاعب إلى دهاليزها المتعبة، وشهدت صالات «عكاظ» جزءاً من رحيق شبابه وخريف عمره، وكان عموده الصحفي «ولكم الرأي» ميداناً لتلاقح الأفكار والمحاورة والجدال الذي لم يفسد ودّه ومحبته للجميع بلا استثناء.
ومع حداثته المعهودة، لم يغفل السريحي التوغل إلى شعر أبي تمام عابراً إلى الكتابة خارج الأقواس وتقليب الحطب على النار وأركولوجيا الكرم الذي أمطر عشرات ممن تتلمذوا على يديه وأضحوا اليوم نجوماً زواهر في عالم الصحافة والتعليم والأدب والفكر..
يبدو أن قلب «سعيد السريحي» المتخم بحب الجميع أثقلته أطنان المشاعر التي فاضت وغمرت زملاءه وتلامذته وعارفي فضله.. دعك من هذا وانهض يا سعيد!

The young, talented man who opened his eyes to the heritage of the sailors of "Al-Ruwais" in the west of Jeddah Province chose to immerse himself in the realms of culture, literature, and the arts. He completed his university education at the College of Sharia at Umm Al-Qura University (Arabic Language), transitioning to the field of teaching in public schools and the university before his career in seeking out troubles took him into its exhausting corridors. The "Okaz" halls witnessed part of the nectar of his youth and the autumn of his life, and his journalistic column "And You Have the Opinion" was a field for the cross-pollination of ideas, dialogue, and debate that never tarnished his affection and love for everyone without exception.
Despite his known modernity, Al-Surayhi did not overlook delving into the poetry of Abu Tammam, moving to write outside the brackets, stirring the firewood, and exploring the archaeology of generosity that showered dozens who were mentored by him and have now become shining stars in the world of journalism, education, literature, and thought.
