في حادثة مأساوية هزّت روسيا وأثارت صدمة واسعة، لقي مولود يبلغ من العمر 21 يومًا حتفه بعدما ألقت به شقيقته البالغة خمس سنوات من نافذة الطابق الرابع في قرية فاسيلييفو التابعة لمنطقة زيلينودولسك الروسية، وفق ما أعلنت لجنة التحقيق الفيدرالية.
ووفقًا لتقارير محلية نقلتها صحيفة «ميرور» البريطانية، وقعت الكارثة بعدما تركت الأم طفلَيها بمفردهما في المنزل، بينما كان الأب في العمل.
وسمع أحد المارة صراخ الطفلة الصغيرة من نافذة الشقة، قبل أن يكتشف المشهد المروّع: الرضيع مسجّى بلا حراك أسفل المبنى بعد سقوطه من ارتفاع 12 مترًا (40 قدمًا).
وقال شهود العيان إن المنظر كان صادمًا إلى درجة أن أرجلهم لم تعد تحملهم، مؤكدين أن فرق الطوارئ وصلت سريعًا لكنها لم تتمكن من إنقاذ الطفل، الذي فارق الحياة في مكان الحادثة.
وأعلنت لجنة التحقيق الروسية فتح قضية جنائية حول الحادثة، مشيرة إلى أن الأم قد تواجه تهماً بالإهمال الجنائي لتركها الطفلين دون رقابة.
ويبحث المحققون أيضًا ما إذا كانت الطفلة أقدمت على فعلها بدافع الغيرة من المولود الجديد، الذي استحوذ على اهتمام الأسرة أخيراً.
كما يجري التحقيق في الظروف المعيشية للعائلة وما إذا كانت هناك عوامل نفسية أو اجتماعية ساهمت في وقوع المأساة.
من جانبه، قال ميخائيل أفاناسييف مسؤول منطقة زيلينودولسك: «التحقيق جارٍ حاليًا من قبل سلطات إنفاذ القانون. أقدّم تعازيّ العميقة للعائلة، وأحثّ جميع الآباء على عدم ترك أطفالهم بمفردهم مهما كانت الأسباب».
In a tragic incident that shook Russia and caused widespread shock, a 21-day-old infant died after being thrown from a fourth-floor window by his five-year-old sister in the village of Vasilyevo in the Zelenodolsk region of Russia, according to the Federal Investigative Committee.
According to local reports cited by the British newspaper "Mirror," the disaster occurred after the mother left her two children alone at home while the father was at work.
A passerby heard the little girl's screams from the apartment window before discovering the horrific scene: the baby lying motionless beneath the building after falling from a height of 12 meters (40 feet).
Eyewitnesses stated that the sight was so shocking that their legs could no longer support them, confirming that emergency teams arrived quickly but were unable to save the child, who died at the scene.
The Russian Investigative Committee announced the opening of a criminal case regarding the incident, noting that the mother may face charges of criminal negligence for leaving the two children unsupervised.
Investigators are also looking into whether the girl acted out of jealousy towards the new baby, who had recently captured the family's attention.
Additionally, an investigation is underway into the family's living conditions and whether there were psychological or social factors that contributed to the tragedy.
For his part, Mikhail Afanasyev, the head of the Zelenodolsk region, said: "An investigation is currently underway by law enforcement authorities. I extend my deepest condolences to the family and urge all parents not to leave their children alone, no matter the circumstances."
