في تصريح غير متوقع، أعلن الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب اليوم (الإثنين) أنه خضع أخيراً لفحص الرنين المغناطيسي، مؤكداً أن «النتيجة كانت مثالية»، دون أن يكشف سبب الفحص أو المنطقة التي شملها.
وجاءت تصريحاته المقتضبة أثناء حديثه للصحفيين على متن الطائرة الرئاسية «إير فورس وان» خلال رحلته إلى طوكيو، ما أثار اهتمام وسائل الإعلام الأمريكية التي تتابع باهتمام حالته الصحية منذ عودته إلى البيت الأبيض في يناير الماضي.
ويُستخدم فحص الرنين المغناطيسي عادة لتصوير الأعضاء الداخلية بدقة عالية وتشخيص الحالات الصحية المختلفة، بحسب وكالة «رويترز».
ويُعد ترمب (79 عاماً) أكبر رئيس أمريكي يعود إلى المنصب، وثاني أكبر رئيس في تاريخ الولايات المتحدة من حيث العمر أثناء توليه الحكم.
وكان طبيب البيت الأبيض شون باربابيلا قد أكد مطلع الشهر الجاري أن الرئيس يتمتع بـ«صحة استثنائية»، رغم ملاحظات طبية سابقة في يوليو الماضي عن تورم في الساقين وكدمات في اليد اليمنى، تبين لاحقاً أنها ناتجة عن قصور وريدي مزمن والتهابات طفيفة بسبب المصافحة المتكررة واستخدام الأسبرين.
من جهته، شدد البيت الأبيض على أن ترمب يواصل أداء مهماته اليومية بكفاءة كاملة، مؤكداً أن حالته مستقرة ولا تستدعي القلق، في حين يرى مراقبون أن تصريحات ترمب الأخيرة تهدف إلى طمأنة الرأي العام الأمريكي بشأن وضعه الصحي قبل استحقاقات سياسية مرتقبة.

Trump, who is 79 years old, is the oldest U.S. president to return to office and the second oldest president in U.S. history in terms of age while in power.
White House physician Sean Conley confirmed earlier this month that the president is in "exceptional health," despite previous medical notes in July about swelling in the legs and bruising on the right hand, which later turned out to be due to chronic venous insufficiency and minor inflammation from frequent handshakes and aspirin use.
For its part, the White House emphasized that Trump continues to perform his daily duties with full efficiency, affirming that his condition is stable and does not warrant concern, while observers believe that Trump's recent statements aim to reassure the American public about his health status ahead of upcoming political challenges.
