في حادثة مروّعة هزّت الشارع الليبي وأثارت صدمة واسعة، عُثر مساء أمس (الثلاثاء) على جثث رجل وسبعة من أطفاله مقتولين بالرصاص داخل سيارة في مدينة بنغازي شرق ليبيا، بينما كانوا في طريقهم إلى المدرسة.
وأظهر مقطع متداول على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي لحظة اكتشاف الجثث داخل المركبة المتوقفة في منطقة الطلحية – الهواري، حيث ظهر الأطفال بزيّهم المدرسي وحقائبهم إلى جانبهم، بينما وُجد الأب مصابًا بطلق ناري وبجانبه السلاح المستخدم في الجريمة.
تعددت الروايات حول الحادثة بين من رجّح فرضية «التصفية العائلية» ومن أشار إلى أن الأب أقدم على قتل أطفاله ثم انتحر.
وكشف مدير أمن بنغازي اللواء صالح هويدي أن التحقيقات الأولية أظهرت أن الأب أطلق النار على أطفاله الستة ثم وضع السابع داخل حقيبة السيارة بعد أن فارق الحياة، مرجحًا أنه قُتل عقب تعذيب.
وأضاف أن الأب يُدعى حسن الزوي وكان يعيش بمفرده مع أطفاله بعد انفصاله عن زوجته، وأنه كان يعاني اضطرابات نفسية ويُعرف بعنفه المتكرر تجاه أبنائه، لا سيما ابنه البكر الذي عُثر عليه داخل الحقيبة.
وأثارت الجريمة موجة غضب وحزن عارمة في ليبيا، ودعا المواطنون إلى فتح تحقيق عاجل وكشف ملابسات الحادثة.
وفي أول رد رسمي، أصدر رئيس الحكومة المكلفة من البرلمان أسامة حمّاد بيانًا دعا فيه الأجهزة الأمنية والقضائية إلى بذل أقصى الجهود لكشف خيوط الجريمة وضمان عدم تكرار مثل هذه المآسي التي تهزّ ثقة الليبيين بأمنهم واستقرارهم.
In a horrific incident that shook the Libyan street and caused widespread shock, the bodies of a man and seven of his children were found shot dead inside a car in the city of Benghazi, eastern Libya, while they were on their way to school.
A video circulated on social media showed the moment the bodies were discovered inside the parked vehicle in the Al-Talhiya – Al-Hawari area, where the children were seen in their school uniforms with their bags beside them, while the father was found with a gunshot wound and the weapon used in the crime next to him.
Various narratives emerged regarding the incident, with some suggesting the theory of "family liquidation" and others indicating that the father killed his children and then committed suicide.
The Director of Security in Benghazi, Major General Saleh Hweidi, revealed that initial investigations showed that the father shot his six children and then placed the seventh inside a bag in the car after he had died, suggesting that he was killed after being tortured.
He added that the father's name was Hassan Al-Zawi and that he lived alone with his children after separating from his wife. He was reported to have suffered from psychological disorders and was known for his repeated violence towards his children, especially his eldest son who was found inside the bag.
The crime sparked a wave of anger and deep sorrow in Libya, with citizens calling for an urgent investigation to uncover the circumstances of the incident.
In the first official response, the head of the government appointed by the parliament, Osama Hamad, issued a statement urging security and judicial agencies to make every effort to uncover the threads of the crime and ensure that such tragedies, which shake the confidence of Libyans in their security and stability, do not recur.
