تداول ناشطون على مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي في الجزائر مقطع فيديو يوثق حفل زواج مراهق يبلغ من العمر 14 عاماً، من فتاة في العمر نفسه، وسط حضور العائلة والأصدقاء.
أثار الفيديو موجة من الجدل الواسع في المجتمع، خصوصاً بعد تصريحات والد العريس الذي عبّر بفخر عن زواج ابنه في هذا السن الصغير، مؤكداً أن العلاقة بين الأب والابن يجب أن تكون وثيقة، وأن الزواج المبكر يُفضل على الانتظار حتى سن الأربعين.
انقسام الآراء
لم تمر تصريحات والد العريس مرور الكرام، إذ اعتبر كثيرون أن الزواج في هذا العمر يناقض حق الطفل في البراءة، ويُشكّل تحدياً كبيراً لمسؤولية ناضجة لا تتوفر عادة في سن المراهقة. وتفاعل معه رواد التواصل الاجتماعي بشكل كبير فكتب أحد المغردين: «هذا المراهق لا يدرك حتى ما يريده من الحياة».
في المقابل، دافع آخرون عن فكرة الزواج المبكر، معتبرين أنه خيار منطقي أكثر من الوقوع في علاقات طويلة غير مستقرة قبل الزواج، مع التشديد على أن نجاح الزواج لا يعتمد فقط على العمر، بل على مدى فهم وتفاهم الطرفين.
ويُحدد القانون الجزائري السن الأدنى للزواج بـ19 عاماً لكل من الذكور والإناث، مع السماح في بعض الحالات الاستثنائية بقرارات قضائية خاصة، غالباً ما تُمنح في المناطق الريفية أو وفق الأعراف المحلية.
وتثير الواقعة تساؤلات حول مدى الالتزام بالقوانين ومدى الرقابة الفعلية على الزيجات المبكرة، خصوصاً في المناطق التي تتبنى تقاليد الزواج المبكر. وتبرز مطالبات كثيرة اليوم من المجتمع المدني ومن ناشطين حقوقيين بضرورة تشديد الرقابة وتطبيق القوانين لحماية حقوق الأطفال وضمان تنشئتهم في بيئة آمنة صحياً واجتماعياً، بعيداً عن ضغوط الزواج المبكر التي قد تؤثر سلباً على مستقبلهم.

The video sparked a wide wave of controversy in the community, especially after the groom's father expressed pride in his son's marriage at such a young age, affirming that the relationship between a father and son should be close, and that early marriage is preferred over waiting until the age of forty.

The groom's father's statements did not go unnoticed, as many considered that marrying at this age contradicts the child's right to innocence and poses a significant challenge to a mature responsibility that is usually not available in adolescence. Social media users reacted strongly, with one tweeter writing: "This teenager doesn't even realize what he wants from life."
On the other hand, others defended the idea of early marriage, considering it a more logical option than falling into long, unstable relationships before marriage, emphasizing that the success of marriage does not solely depend on age, but on the understanding and compatibility of both parties.
Algerian law sets the minimum age for marriage at 19 years for both males and females, allowing for special judicial decisions in some exceptional cases, which are often granted in rural areas or according to local customs.
This incident raises questions about the extent of adherence to laws and the actual oversight of early marriages, especially in areas that embrace early marriage traditions. There are many calls today from civil society and human rights activists for the need to tighten oversight and enforce laws to protect children's rights and ensure they are raised in a safe health and social environment, away from the pressures of early marriage that could negatively impact their future.
