أعلنت خدمات الطوارئ والشرطة في سلوفاكيا، عن وقوع حادثة تصادم بين قطارين في شرق البلاد، ما أدى إلى خروج محرك وعربة ركاب عن القضبان وإصابة 66 شخصًا على الأقل.
وأوضحت الشرطة أن الحادثة وقعت أمام أحد الأنفاق بالقرب من قرية تبعد نحو 55 كيلومترًا غرب مدينة كوسيتشه، ثاني أكبر مدن سلوفاكيا. وأفادت خدمات الطوارئ بأن 16 مصابًا حالتهم متوسطة إلى خطيرة، بينما أصيب 50 آخرون بإصابات طفيفة.
وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو نشرتها الشرطة على منصة فيسبوك مشاهد لحطام القطارين، وقاطرة وعربة ركاب خرجتا عن القضبان على جانب تل قريب من موقع الحادثة.
وبيّنت هيئة السكك الحديدية السلوفاكية أن التصادم وقع عند نقطة تتقاطع فيها المسارات لتتحول إلى خط واحد، مشيرة إلى أن التحقيق جارٍ لتحديد أسباب الحادثة وملابساتها.
Emergency services and police in Slovakia announced that a collision occurred between two trains in the eastern part of the country, resulting in a locomotive and a passenger car derailing and at least 66 people being injured.
The police clarified that the incident took place in front of a tunnel near a village located about 55 kilometers west of Košice, Slovakia's second-largest city. Emergency services reported that 16 of the injured are in moderate to serious condition, while 50 others sustained minor injuries.
Videos published by the police on Facebook showed scenes of the wreckage of the two trains, with a locomotive and a passenger car that had derailed on the side of a hill near the accident site.
The Slovak railway authority indicated that the collision occurred at a point where the tracks intersect to merge into a single line, noting that an investigation is underway to determine the causes and circumstances of the incident.
