A Ryanair flight from Pisa, Italy, to Prestwick, Scotland, experienced a real emergency after a distress signal was declared due to running low on fuel in the air, forcing the plane to change its course and make an emergency landing at Manchester Airport.

Failed Landing Attempts

Amid fierce winds exceeding 100 miles per hour due to Storm "Eimi," the plane attempted to land several times at Prestwick and then at Edinburgh, but all landing attempts failed due to the severe weather conditions, before it was able to land safely in Manchester.

Fuel Enough for Only 5 Minutes!

The crew was shocked by the low fuel level, which had dropped to only 220 kilograms in the aircraft's tank, equivalent to less than 6 minutes of flight, known as the "final fuel reserve," posing a significant risk to the safety of the flight.

Witnesses from the Scene

Alexander Marchi (one of the passengers) stated that the flight was delayed due to a strike and protests at Pisa Airport, describing the landing as terrifying with several intermittent landing attempts, confirming that everyone felt relieved after landing in Manchester, wishing not to travel by air in the near future.

Ryanair announced the opening of an investigation into the incident, confirming its full cooperation with the relevant authorities, while the exact reasons behind the low fuel and the inability of the aircraft to land at either destination remain under investigation.
