أعلنت الصين، اليوم، بدء تشغيل أكبر جهاز للطرد المركزي في العالم من حيث القدرة، يمكنه توليد جاذبية تعادل 300 ضعف جاذبية الأرض لحمولة تبلغ 20 طناً.
ويعد الجهاز الذي يعرف باسم «CHIEF1300» أحد المكونات الجوهرية لمرفق تجارب الجاذبية الفائقة للطرد المركزي والتجارب متعددة التخصصات (CHIEF)، ويقع في مدينة «هانغتشو»، بمقاطعة «تشجيانغ» شرق الصين.
ويستخدم جهاز الطرد المركزي لأغراض البحوث الرائدة التي تشمل استخراج الموارد من أعماق المحيطات وأعماق الأرض، والتخفيف من حدة الكوارث والوقاية منها، والتخلص من النفايات الجوفية، وتخليق مواد جديدة.
China announced today the launch of the world's largest centrifuge in terms of capacity, capable of generating a gravitational force equivalent to 300 times that of Earth for a load of 20 tons.
The device, known as "CHIEF1300," is a core component of the Centrifugal Supergravity Experimental Facility and Multidisciplinary Experiments (CHIEF), located in the city of Hangzhou, in Zhejiang Province, eastern China.
The centrifuge is used for pioneering research purposes, including resource extraction from the depths of the oceans and the Earth's interior, disaster mitigation and prevention, underground waste disposal, and the synthesis of new materials.
