ضرب زلزال بلغت قوته 4.6 درجة على مقياس ريختر اليوم (الأحد)، تشيلي.
وذكرت هيئة المسح الجيولوجي الأمريكية، في بيان، أن مركز الزلزال كان على بعد (43) كيلومترًا من مدينة «أولاغوي»، وعلى عمق (122.7) كيلومترًا.
ولم ترد أنباء حتى الآن عن وقوع خسائر بشرية أو أضرار مادية جراء الزلزال.
وتقع تشيلي في منطقة تسمى «حزام النار»، وهي قوس من التصدعات التي تحيط بحوض المحيط الهادي، ومعرضة لزلازل متكررة ونشاط بركاني.
A 4.6 magnitude earthquake struck today (Sunday) in Chile.
The U.S. Geological Survey reported in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake was located (43) kilometers from the city of "Ollagüe," at a depth of (122.7) kilometers.
No reports of casualties or material damage have been received so far due to the earthquake.
Chile is located in an area known as the "Ring of Fire," which is an arc of faults surrounding the Pacific Ocean basin, and is prone to frequent earthquakes and volcanic activity.
