أعلنت الشرطة الإيطالية اليوم (السبت) اكتشافاً مذهلاً لمصنع سري لإنتاج السجائر المقلدة غير القانونية داخل كازينو مهجور، يقع على بعد نحو 120 كيلومتراً جنوب شرقي العاصمة روما، في منطقة بوميزيا الصناعية.
ووفقاً للسلطات الإيطالية يُقدر أن المصنع كان ينتج ما يصل إلى 300 مليون سيجارة مقلدة، ما يجعله واحداً من أكبر العمليات غير الشرعية في أوروبا، وفقاً لتقارير الشرطة المالية.

وتم الكشف عن المصنع المخفي داخل أنفاق تحت الأرض وغرف سرية مرتبطة بالكازينو المهجور، في عملية مداهمة واسعة النطاق، قادها محققو الشرطة المالية، التابعون للمكتب الإقليمي في روما، حيث وُجدت آلات إنتاج متقدمة قادرة على إنتاج ملايين السجائر يومياً.
ووفقاً للتحقيقات الأولية تم العثور على مخزون هائل من المواد الخام مثل التبغ المهرب والورق المعالج، كما تم القبض على عدة عمال أجانب، من ضمنهم لاجئون أوكرانيون يُشتبه في استغلالهم في ظروف عمل قاسية.

ويُعد تهريب وإنتاج السجائر غير الشرعية مشكلة مزمنة في إيطاليا، حيث يُقدر حجم السوق السوداء بأكثر من 10 مليارات يورو سنوياً، وفقاً لتقارير مكتب المدعي العام الأوروبي، وغالباً تكون هذه العمليات مرتبطة بالمنظمات الإجرامية مثل الكامورا في نابولي أو عصابات صقلية، التي تستغل المناطق الصناعية المهملة والموانئ لتهريب التبغ من شرق أوروبا أو شمال أفريقيا.
وفي السنوات الأخيرة، شهدت إيطاليا سلسلة من المداهمات الكبرى؛ على سبيل المثال، في يوليو الماضي، دمر مكتب المدعي العام الأوروبي مصنعاً هائلاً في مقاطعة فودجا بأبوليا، قادراً على إنتاج مليوني سيجارة يومياً، ما أدى إلى خسائر ضريبية تقدر بـ80 مليون يورو سنوياً. وفي يونيو، تم تفكيك شبكة تهريب مشتركة بين رومانيا وإيطاليا، أما في يناير، فكانت هناك عملية في باليرمو أسفرت عن مصادرة 22 طناً من السجائر.

The hidden factory was uncovered within underground tunnels and secret rooms connected to the abandoned casino, during a large-scale raid led by investigators from the financial police, affiliated with the regional office in Rome, where advanced production machines capable of producing millions of cigarettes daily were found.
According to preliminary investigations, a massive stockpile of raw materials such as smuggled tobacco and processed paper was discovered, and several foreign workers were arrested, including Ukrainian refugees suspected of being exploited in harsh working conditions.
