تعرض الرئيس الفرنسي إيمانويل ماكرون لموقف غير متوقع بعد انتهاء خطابه في مقر الأمم المتحدة، يوم الإثنين 22 سبتمبر، بسبب مرور موكب الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب في شوارع المدينة.
وأظهر فيديو نشر عبر وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي من حساب Brut أن الشرطة الأمريكية أوقفت ماكرون في شارع مغلق، حيث أبلغوه قائلين: «أعتذر سيادة الرئيس، كل شيء مغلق الآن»، مشيرين إلى اقتراب الموكب الرئاسي.
وفي محاولة لتجاوز هذا الموقف، اتصل ماكرون بنظيره الأمريكي، دونالد ترمب، قائلاً عبر الهاتف مبتسما: «تخيل ماذا؟ أنا الآن أنتظر في الشارع لأن كل شيء مغلق من أجلك».
وبعد عدة دقائق، تم فتح الشارع جزئيا للمشاة فقط، ما اضطر الرئيس الفرنسي لمواصلة مكالمته مع ترمب في الشارع أثناء توجهه نحو السفارة الفرنسية.
French President Emmanuel Macron faced an unexpected situation after his speech at the United Nations headquarters on Monday, September 22, due to the passing motorcade of U.S. President Donald Trump through the city streets.
A video shared on social media from the Brut account showed that U.S. police stopped Macron on a closed street, informing him: "I apologize, Mr. President, everything is closed now," referring to the approaching presidential motorcade.
In an attempt to navigate this situation, Macron called his American counterpart, Donald Trump, saying over the phone with a smile: "Guess what? I'm now waiting in the street because everything is closed for you."
After several minutes, the street was partially opened for pedestrians only, forcing the French president to continue his call with Trump in the street while heading towards the French embassy.
