Indian authorities have arrested content creator Akshay Vashisht in the capital city of New Delhi after he posted a video that sparked widespread controversy across social media platforms.

A Terrifying Video

The YouTuber, who has more than 572,000 followers on YouTube, broadcast a recording titled "The Haunted Goa Airport," in which he claimed that Manohar International Airport was built over a cremation site, and that workers there had encountered mysterious scenes, including the appearance of a woman in a traditional red outfit on the runway.

The Police's Stance

Goa police described the video as a false and fantastical claim designed to incite fear and attract views, confirming that the social media monitoring unit had detected the clip before arresting its creator. Investigations also revealed that he resorted to fabricating fake testimonies to support his claims.

The Defendant's Defense

For his part, Vashisht considered his arrest "illegal" and aimed at harassing him, asserting that his content falls within the realm of supernatural stories that he is accustomed to narrating to his audience.
