The Reason Behind the Ban

D'Acampo (48 years old) explained that the reason is due to the milk in cappuccino, which slows down the digestion process if consumed after meals, while espresso remains a suitable option throughout the day as it helps stimulate circulation and improve digestion.

Coffee Only for Breakfast

According to Italian customs, coffee with milk is considered ideal for breakfast with pastries, but it is not suitable after lunch or dinner, as Italians prefer to switch to espresso or the lighter macchiato.

D'Acampo's statement in a video on TikTok garnered over 2.4 million views and sparked extensive discussions among coffee lovers. Some commenters mocked the rule saying, "Milk after dinner is forbidden, but tiramisu is allowed!" while others insisted that they do not adhere to the rules of any country: "I drink what I want when I want."
