تعرضت بريطانيا لصورة مأساوية مؤلمة، إثر تداعيات فقد الطفلة بوني (4 أعوام) حياتها بعد صراع صحي حاد استمر أياماً قليلة. ورغم محاولات الإنعاش، لم تنجُ الطفلة، تاركة عائلتها في حالة صدمة وحزن عميق.
تجميد الجثة يصدم الأسرة
وبحسب صحيفة ديلي ميل، أصيب والد الطفلة وأمها لورين مارش (33 عاماً) بصدمة كبيرة، حين اكتشفا أن جثة بوني جُمّدت دون الحصول على موافقة الأم، واضطرت لورين للانتظار خمسة أيام قبل أن تتمكن من رؤيتها. ووصفت الأم شعورها بـ«الانفطار» لأنها لم توقع على أي إجراء، مشيرة إلى أن الجثة لم تعد تشبه ابنتها بعد ذلك.
مسار صحي مقلق
بدأت أعراض المرض على الطفلة في 14 ديسمبر، وتفاقمت سريعاً لتتضمن القيء والإغماء وفقدان القدرة على الحركة والتحدث. ورغم تنقلها بين المستشفيات وطلب والديها سيارة إسعاف، قيل لهم إن حالتها طبيعية ولم تُعطَ علاجات عاجلة، قبل أن تفارق الحياة أثناء محاولة نقلها إلى مستشفى أدينبروك في كامبريدج.
تأجيل التحقيق الرسمي
تفاقمت المعاناة النفسية للأسرة مع التأجيلات المتكررة للتحقيق الرسمي في وفاة الطفلة. وكان من المقرر عقد جلسة الاستماع في يوليو 2025، ثم تأجلت إلى أكتوبر 2025، وأخيراً حُدد موعد جديد بين 13 و15 أبريل 2026. وقالت لورين: «هذا كابوس لا ينتهي، ابنتي أصبحت وكأنها ملك لهيئة الخدمات الصحية الوطنية منذ وفاتها».
رد المستشفى
أوضحت المديرة التنفيذية لمستشفيات جامعة نورفولك ونورويتش تريسي بليكلي أن التحقيق الكامل سيوفر فرصة للإجابة على جميع تساؤلات الأسرة، مؤكدة تقديم «خالص التعازي لعائلة بوني» والاعتذار عن أي تأخير إضافي.

The Freezing of the Body Shocks the Family
According to the Daily Mail, Bonnie's father and her mother, Lauren Marsh (33 years old), were greatly shocked when they discovered that Bonnie's body had been frozen without the mother's consent, forcing Lauren to wait five days before she could see her. The mother described her feelings as "heartbreaking" because she had not signed off on any procedure, noting that the body no longer resembled her daughter after that.
Concerning Health Trajectory
The symptoms of the illness began to appear on December 14 and quickly escalated to include vomiting, fainting, and loss of the ability to move and speak. Despite being transferred between hospitals and her parents requesting an ambulance, they were told that her condition was normal and she was not given urgent treatments before she passed away while being transported to Addenbrooke's Hospital in Cambridge.
Delay of the Official Investigation
The family's psychological suffering was compounded by repeated delays in the official investigation into the child's death. A hearing was initially scheduled for July 2025, then postponed to October 2025, and finally a new date was set between April 13 and 15, 2026. Lauren said, "This is a never-ending nightmare; my daughter has become as if she belongs to the National Health Service since her death."
Hospital's Response
Tracy Blakely, the CEO of Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals, clarified that a full investigation would provide an opportunity to answer all of the family's questions, expressing "sincere condolences to Bonnie's family" and apologizing for any further delays.
