شهدت إندونيسيا أمطاراً غزيرة غير مسبوقة تسببت في فيضانات مدمرة طالت أبرز المقاصد السياحية العالمية، وعلى رأسها جزيرتا بالي وفلوريس. وأعلنت السلطات أن 18 شخصاً على الأقل لقوا مصرعهم، فيما لا يزال ستة آخرون في عداد المفقودين.
دنباسار تغرق
ذكرت صحيفة بالي صن المحلية أن العاصمة دينباسار تكبدت أضراراً جسيمة، بينما تحولت الشوارع في مناطق سياحية شهيرة مثل كانجو وأوبود إلى أنهار جارية. وفي بالي وحدها، تأكد مصرع 14 شخصاً، وإجلاء أكثر من 560 مواطناً إلى مراكز إيواء مؤقتة داخل المدارس والمجمعات المجتمعية.
أضرار كبيرة
أدت السيول إلى جرف السيارات وغمر المنازل والأنفاق بالمياه، كما تضررت حركة المرور على الطرق الرئيسية، بينها الطريق المؤدي إلى مطار أي جوستي نجوراه راي الدولي، ما زاد من معاناة السكان والسياح. ووصفت وسائل الإعلام المحلية حجم الخسائر بالكبير للغاية، في حين ناشدت السلطات السياح توخي الحذر وتجنب المخاطر غير الضرورية.
عواصف منتظرة
بدورها، حذرت وكالة الأرصاد الجوية الإندونيسية (BMKG) من استمرار العواصف خلال الأيام القادمة، مرجعة الظاهرة إلى تأثير أمواج روسبي الاستوائية، وهي أمواج كوكبية ضخمة تخلق طقساً متطرفاً وتسهم في تشكل سحب كثيفة محملة بالأمطار الغزيرة.

Denpasar is Flooded
The local newspaper Bali Sun reported that the capital, Denpasar, has suffered severe damage, while streets in popular tourist areas such as Canggu and Ubud have turned into flowing rivers. In Bali alone, 14 confirmed deaths have been reported, and more than 560 citizens have been evacuated to temporary shelters in schools and community complexes.
Significant Damage
The floods have swept away cars and inundated homes and tunnels, while traffic on major roads, including the road leading to Ngurah Rai International Airport, has been disrupted, increasing the suffering of residents and tourists. Local media described the extent of the losses as extremely large, while authorities urged tourists to exercise caution and avoid unnecessary risks.
Expected Storms
For its part, the Indonesian Meteorology Agency (BMKG) warned of continuing storms in the coming days, attributing the phenomenon to the influence of tropical Rossby waves, which are massive planetary waves that create extreme weather and contribute to the formation of dense clouds laden with heavy rain.
