أعلنت السلطات المكسيكية، اليوم (الثلاثاء)، مقتل عشرة أشخاص وإصابة أكثر من 60 آخرين جراء اصطدام قطار بضائع بحافلة من طابقين شمال غربي العاصمة مكسيكو سيتي.
وأوضح مكتب المدعي العام في ولاية المكسيك أن القتلى هم سبع نساء وثلاثة رجال، فيما نُقل المصابون إلى عدد من المستشفيات لتلقي العلاج، بينهم حالات خطرة.
وحثت السلطات، المواطنين على احترام إشارات السكك الحديدية وعدم تعريض حياتهم وحياة الآخرين للخطر.
وقالت شركة السكك الحديدية «كانيديان باسيفيك كانساس سيتي دي مكسيكو» -في بيان- إنها تأسف لـ«الحادث المروع»، مشيرة إلى أن الحافلة حاولت عبور السكة قبل وصول القطار، وأكدت أنها تتعاون مع السلطات وتقدم «كل المعلومات اللازمة» للتحقيق.
Mexican authorities announced today (Tuesday) the deaths of ten people and injuries to more than 60 others due to a collision between a freight train and a double-decker bus northwest of Mexico City.
The Attorney General's Office in the State of Mexico clarified that the deceased include seven women and three men, while the injured have been transferred to several hospitals for treatment, including some in critical condition.
Authorities urged citizens to respect railway signals and not to put their lives and the lives of others at risk.
The railway company "Canadian Pacific Kansas City de México" stated in a press release that it regrets the "tragic incident," noting that the bus attempted to cross the tracks before the train arrived, and confirmed that it is cooperating with the authorities and providing "all necessary information" for the investigation.
