هزّت مدينة إزمير التركية الرأي العام بحادثة صادمة، بعدما انتشر مقطع مصوّر أظهر سيدة مسنّة تعتدي بالضرب المبرح على حفيدها البالغ سبع سنوات، في مشهد أثار موجة غضب واسعة داخل تركيا وخارجها.
التسجيل الذي صوّره أحد الأقارب خفية بهاتف محمول، كشف الجدة وهي تنهال على الطفل ركلًا وصفعًا، ما كشف معاناة كان يعيشها الطفل بعيدًا عن أنظار والده، الذي يشاركه السكن مع والديه بعد انفصاله عن زوجته.
وبمجرد انتشار الفيديو عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي، تحركت السلطات التركية بسرعة، حيث أوقفت الجدة المتهمة، فيما جرى نقل الطفل إلى دار رعاية تحت إشراف متخصصين نفسيين لضمان حمايته ودعمه معنويًا.
وأكدت وسائل الإعلام المحلية أن التحقيقات لا تزال جارية، بينما تتصاعد مطالبات حقوقية وشعبية بفرض عقوبات مشددة على مرتكبي العنف ضد الأطفال، في محاولة لوضع حد لهذه الانتهاكات المروّعة.
The Turkish city of Izmir shook public opinion with a shocking incident, after a video clip went viral showing an elderly woman brutally assaulting her seven-year-old grandson, in a scene that sparked widespread outrage both inside and outside Turkey.
The recording, secretly filmed by a relative with a mobile phone, revealed the grandmother raining down kicks and slaps on the child, highlighting the suffering the boy was enduring away from his father's eyes, who shares a home with his parents after separating from his wife.
As soon as the video spread across social media, Turkish authorities acted quickly, arresting the accused grandmother, while the child was transferred to a care facility under the supervision of mental health professionals to ensure his protection and emotional support.
Local media confirmed that investigations are still ongoing, while demands for strict penalties against perpetrators of violence against children are rising, in an attempt to put an end to these horrific abuses.
