حجبت الكويت منصة الألعاب الشهيرة بـ«روبلوكس»، استجابة لشكاوى الأهالي والجهات المختصة بشأن المخاطر التي تهدد سلامة الأطفال، بما في ذلك التعرض لممارسات غير آمنة، واستغلال إلكتروني، وسلوكيات ضارة، فضلاً عن محتويات غير مناسبة وممارسات شرائية غير آمنة.
وذكرت الهيئة العامة للاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات الكويتية أن قرار الحجب هو قرار مؤقت حتى تنتهي المفاوضات بين الشركة والهيئة، إذ ترغب الكويت في التأكد من التزامها بحذف أية محتويات مسيئة أو خطرة، وتوفير معايير حماية كافية للأطفال، وذلك قبل إعادة النظر في رفع الحجب.
في السياق ذاته، قالت الهيئة العامة للاتصالات وتقنية المعلومات الكويتية إن حجب لعبة ROBLOX في الكويت جاء استناداً إلى صلاحياتها القانونية في حماية المستخدمين، لاسيما فئة الأطفال.
Kuwait has blocked the popular gaming platform "Roblox" in response to complaints from parents and relevant authorities regarding the risks that threaten children's safety, including exposure to unsafe practices, online exploitation, harmful behaviors, as well as inappropriate content and unsafe purchasing practices.
The Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology in Kuwait stated that the blocking decision is temporary until negotiations between the company and the authority are concluded, as Kuwait wants to ensure compliance with the removal of any offensive or dangerous content and to provide adequate protection standards for children before reconsidering the lifting of the block.
In this context, the Public Authority for Communications and Information Technology in Kuwait indicated that the blocking of the game ROBLOX in Kuwait was based on its legal powers to protect users, especially children.
