في خطوة حاسمة، أصدرت النيابة العامة الليبية قراراً بحبس احتياطي لشخص ظهر في مقاطع فيديو متداولة وهو يطلق أسداً على عامل مصري الجنسية، بغرض المزاح والاستهزاء، في واقعة أثارت استياءً واسعاً في ليبيا ومصر.
وأوضحت النيابة العامة الليبية، في بيان رسمي، أن هذا السلوك ينتهك القوانين والقيم الإنسانية، ويترك آثاراً نفسية واجتماعية خطيرة على الضحايا والمجتمع.
وجاء القرار بعد انتشار مقطع مصوّر يوثق قيام صاحب مزرعة ليبي، يُدعى عبد الفتاح، بإطلاق أسده على عامل مصري يُدعى علاء، ما أثار غضباً شعبياً عارماً.
الفيديو، الذي انتشر على نطاق واسع عبر منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، أظهر الأسد وهو يحتضن العامل المصري ويعضه برفق من كتفه، بينما كان المتهم يوثق الحادثة ويضحك، موجهاً العامل بالهدوء، قائلاً: «أعطيه بوسه يا علاء».
في المقابل، بدا العامل في حالة فزع واضح، حيث حاول تحرير نفسه من قبضة الأسد، متألماً من جروح طفيفة، وقال: «والله عض، بس خلاص».
ورغم تأكيد كل من العامل وصاحب المزرعة أن الواقعة كانت «دعابة»، وأن علاقة صداقة تربطهما منذ 20 عاماً، إلا أن الفيديو لاقى إدانات واسعة، حيث اعتبره ناشطون إهانة للكرامة الإنسانية واستهتاراً بحياة البشر.
فيما تحركت النيابة العامة الليبية بسرعة، حيث أصدرت أوامر بضبط المتهم وتمكنت الجهات الأمنية من إلقاء القبض عليه للتحقيق، وخلال الاستجواب واجهته النيابة باتهامات تتعلق بإساءة استخدام الحيوانات المفترسة وتعريض حياة الآخرين للخطر.
وكشفت التحقيقات أن المتهم يواجه أحكاماً غيابية سابقة تصل مدتها إلى 14 عاماً، ما يعزز الإجراءات القانونية ضده، وأكدت النيابة التزامها باتخاذ تدابير صارمة لحماية السلم الاجتماعي ومنع مثل هذه الممارسات التي تهدد أمن المجتمع.
هذه الحادثة ليست الأولى من نوعها في ليبيا، حيث تتكرر الوقائع المماثلة بسبب انتشار ظاهرة تربية الحيوانات المفترسة في المنازل والمزارع، رغم وجود قرار حكومي يحظر ذلك، وسبق أن شهدت البلاد حوادث مأساوية، منها مقتل طفل يبلغ من العمر 4 أعوام في أجدابيا عام 2022 بعد هجوم نمر، ووفاة عامل سوداني التهمته أسود في مزرعة بمنطقة بوهادي في بنغازي قبل 3 سنوات، كما أثار مقطع سابق في يوليو الماضي استنكاراً لقيام صاحب مزرعة بإطلاق أسده على عمال أفارقة لترويعهم.
وشددت النيابة الليبية على أنها لن تتهاون مع هذه الممارسات، مؤكدة أن التعامل الحازم ضروري للحفاظ على القيم الإنسانية وأمن المجتمع.
In a decisive step, the Libyan Public Prosecution issued a decision for the provisional detention of a person who appeared in circulating video clips shooting a lion at an Egyptian worker, for the purpose of joking and mockery, in an incident that sparked widespread outrage in Libya and Egypt.
The Libyan Public Prosecution clarified, in an official statement, that this behavior violates laws and humanitarian values, leaving serious psychological and social effects on the victims and the community.
The decision came after a video surfaced documenting a Libyan farm owner, named Abdel Fattah, releasing his lion on an Egyptian worker named Alaa, which provoked widespread public anger.
The video, which spread widely across social media platforms, showed the lion embracing the Egyptian worker and gently biting him on the shoulder, while the accused filmed the incident and laughed, directing the worker to stay calm, saying: "Give him a kiss, Alaa."
In contrast, the worker appeared to be in clear distress, trying to free himself from the lion's grip, wincing from minor injuries, and said: "By God, it bit me, but that's it."
Despite both the worker and the farm owner confirming that the incident was a "joke," and that they have had a friendship for 20 years, the video received widespread condemnation, as activists considered it an insult to human dignity and a disregard for human life.
The Libyan Public Prosecution acted swiftly, issuing orders to apprehend the accused, and security forces managed to arrest him for investigation. During the interrogation, the prosecution confronted him with charges related to the abuse of wild animals and endangering the lives of others.
Investigations revealed that the accused faces prior absentee sentences totaling up to 14 years, which strengthens the legal actions against him. The prosecution affirmed its commitment to taking strict measures to protect social peace and prevent such practices that threaten community security.
This incident is not the first of its kind in Libya, as similar occurrences are repeated due to the phenomenon of keeping wild animals in homes and farms, despite a government decision prohibiting it. The country has previously witnessed tragic incidents, including the death of a 4-year-old child in Ajdabiya in 2022 after a tiger attack, and the death of a Sudanese worker who was eaten by lions on a farm in the Buhadi area of Benghazi three years ago. A previous clip in July also sparked outrage when a farm owner released his lion on African workers to frighten them.
The Libyan prosecution emphasized that it will not tolerate these practices, asserting that firm action is necessary to uphold humanitarian values and community security.
