ألقت الشرطة القبض على شخصين على خلفية جريمة قتل وقعت في كامبريدج أمس (السبت).
وتم استدعاء الشرطة مساء الجمعة إثر بلاغ عن حالة عنف تعرض لها شاب يبلغ من العمر 20 عاما عند الساعة 11:27 مساءً.
وعلى الرغم من محاولات إنقاذ الشاب إلا أنه لم يصمد طويلا، إذ توفي في موقع الحادث عند الساعة 12:01 صباح السبت.
وأُلقت الشرطة القبض على شاب يبلغ من العمر 21 عامًا من كامبريدج للاشتباه في ارتكابه جريمة القتل. كما أُلقي القبض على رجل يبلغ من العمر 50 عامًا من كامبريدج للاشتباه في مساعدته للمجرم، ولا يزال الرجلان رهن الاحتجاز في مركز شرطة ثورب وود.
وقال مفتش المباحث ديل ميبستيد، من وحدة الجرائم الكبرى في بيدفوردشير وكامبريدجشير وهيرتفوردشير: «نود أن نشكر الجمهور على دعمهم ومساعدتهم بعد ندائنا. ولا يزال التحقيق جاريًا، ونحثّ أي شخص لديه معلومات عن جريمة القتل على التواصل معنا».
The police arrested two individuals in connection with a murder that occurred in Cambridge yesterday (Saturday).
The police were called on Friday evening following a report of a violent incident involving a 20-year-old man at 11:27 PM.
Despite attempts to save the young man, he did not survive for long, as he died at the scene of the incident at 12:01 AM on Saturday.
A 21-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of committing the murder. Additionally, a 50-year-old man from Cambridge was arrested on suspicion of assisting the perpetrator, and both men remain in custody at Thorpe Wood Police Station.
Detective Inspector Dale Meabstead from the Major Crimes Unit in Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, and Hertfordshire said: “We would like to thank the public for their support and assistance following our appeal. The investigation is ongoing, and we urge anyone with information about the murder to get in touch with us.”
