وأوضحت رئيسة محطة «يوجنو ساخالينسك» لرصد الزلازل إيلينا سيمينوفا أن مركز الزلزال حدد على بُعد 250 كيلومترًا غرب مدينة سيفيرو كوريلسك، في جزيرة باراموشير، وكان مركزه على عمق 429 كم، ولم يشعر السكان به، ولم يصدر تحذير من حدوث تسونامي.
A 4.4 magnitude earthquake struck today near the northern Kuril Islands in the Pacific Ocean.
Elena Semenova, the head of the "Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk" seismic monitoring station, explained that the epicenter of the earthquake was located 250 kilometers west of the city of Severo-Kurilsk, on Paramushir Island, at a depth of 429 km. The residents did not feel it, and no tsunami warning was issued.
