وأفاد المركز الألماني لأبحاث علوم الأرض، بأن الزلزال كان على عمق 10 كيلومترات.
وأصدر نظام التحذير من موجات المد العاتية (تسونامي) الأمريكي تحذيراً من احتمال حدوث موجات مد في أجزاء من ولاية ألاسكا عقب الزلزال.
