شهدت منطقة «باشاك شهير» السكنية في مدينة إسطنبول حادثة غير مسبوقة، حيث انحدرت شاحنة عملاقة دون سائق على منحدر شديد، مُحدثةً حالة من الفزع والدمار.
الشاحنة، التي خرجت عن السيطرة، جرفت في طريقها 23 سيارة متوقفة على جانبي الشارع، مخلفةً خسائر مادية جسيمة تقدر بآلاف الدولارات، إلا أنه ورغم الدمار الكبير لم تسجل الحادثة أي إصابات بشرية، وهو ما وصفه السكان المحليون بـ«المعجزة وسط الفوضى».
ووفقاً لوسائل إعلام محلية، وقعت الحادثة في ساعات الصباح الباكر يوم الأحد، حيث كانت الشاحنة، وهي من نوع الرافعات الآلية (ونش)، متوقفة في منطقة مرتفعة بـ«باشاك شهير»، وهي إحدى المناطق السكنية الحديثة في إسطنبول، ولأسباب لم تُحدد بعد بشكل كامل، بدأت الشاحنة في الانزلاق بسرعة على المنحدر، حيث اصطدمت بالسيارات المتوقفة، مُحطمةً الزجاج ومُشوهةً هياكلها.
وأظهرت مقاطع فيديو متداولة على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي الشاحنة وهي تتحرك بسرعة مخيفة، تاركةً وراءها أضراراً هائلة، حتى هرعت السلطات المحلية إلى مكان الحادثة، وعملت فرق الشرطة والإطفاء على تأمين المنطقة وتقييم الأضرار.
وتشير التحقيقات الأولية إلى أن عطلاً ميكانيكياً أو إهمالاً في تثبيت الشاحنة قد يكون السبب وراء الحادثة، لكن التحقيقات لا تزال جارية لتحديد المسؤوليات.
وتعد حوادث الشاحنات الكبيرة ليست جديدة في تركيا، حيث شهدت البلاد في السنوات الأخيرة عدة حوادث مماثلة، بعضها تسبب في خسائر بشرية، على سبيل المثال، في أغسطس 2022، تسببت شاحنة بسبب عطل في الفرامل في مقتل 16 شخصاً في سوق شعبية بمحافظة ماردين.
The residential area of "Başakşehir" in Istanbul witnessed an unprecedented incident, as a giant truck rolled down a steep slope without a driver, causing panic and destruction.
The out-of-control truck swept away 23 parked cars on either side of the street, leaving behind significant material losses estimated in the thousands of dollars. However, despite the extensive damage, no human injuries were reported, which local residents described as a "miracle amidst the chaos."
According to local media, the incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning, when the truck, a type of crane (winch), was parked in an elevated area of "Başakşehir," one of the modern residential districts in Istanbul. For reasons that have not yet been fully determined, the truck began to slide rapidly down the slope, colliding with the parked cars, shattering glass and distorting their structures.
Videos circulated on social media showed the truck moving at a frightening speed, leaving behind massive damage, until local authorities rushed to the scene, and police and fire teams worked to secure the area and assess the damages.
Preliminary investigations suggest that a mechanical failure or negligence in securing the truck may be the cause of the incident, but investigations are still ongoing to determine responsibilities.
Incidents involving large trucks are not new in Turkey, as the country has witnessed several similar accidents in recent years, some of which resulted in human casualties. For example, in August 2022, a truck caused by a brake failure led to the deaths of 16 people in a popular market in Mardin Province.
