توفيت المؤثرة التركية الشهيرة نيهال جاندان عن عمر ناهز 30 عاماً، بعد صراع مرير مع اضطراب فقدان الشهية العصبي، أدى إلى تدهور شديد في حالتها الصحية، إذ بلغ وزنها قبيل وفاتها 23 كيلوغراماً فقط.
وأكدت صديقتها المؤثرة سيلا دوغو، خبر الوفاة عبر منشور مقتضب على وسائل التواصل الاجتماعي قالت فيه: «فقدنا نيهال»، في إعلان شكّل صدمة كبيرة لمتابعيها.
وكانت نيهال قد نُقلت أخيراً إلى وحدة العناية المركزة في أحد مستشفيات إسطنبول، بعد تعرضها لأزمة قلبية للمرة الثانية. وعلى الرغم من محاولات الأطباء إنعاشها، فارقت الحياة لاحقاً.
وشُيّع جثمانها عقب صلاة الظهر من مسجد بربروس خيرالدين باشا في منطقة ليفنت بإسطنبول، ودفنت في مقابر العائلة، بحسب ما أعلنت أسرتها.
بدأ التدهور الصحي لنيهال جاندان قبل نحو عامين، بعد اعتقالها وشقيقتها أليسيا بهار جاندان في نوفمبر 2023، على خلفية قضية احتيال و«غسيل أموال».
وخلال فترة احتجازها، ظهرت على نيهال أعراض اضطراب سلوكي غذائي، أدّت إلى تدهور حالتها الجسدية والنفسية، وانخفاض وزنها إلى 37 كيلوغراماً. وبناءً على تقرير طبي، أُفرج عنها لاحقاً لأسباب صحية.
ورغم محاولتها استعادة حياتها الطبيعية بعد الخروج من السجن واحتفالها بعيد ميلادها، لم تتحسن حالتها، واستمرت معاناتها حتى وصلت إلى مرحلة حرجة استدعت إدخالها إلى المستشفى مجدداً، وقد أصبحت حياتها تعتمد بالكامل على الأجهزة الحيوية، وفق ما أفادت والدتها، أموت جاندان.
وفي خضم هذه الأزمة، تعرض والدها، البروفيسور هاكان جاندان، لأزمة قلبية حادة نتيجة الضغط النفسي المرتبط بحالة ابنته، ما زاد من محنة العائلة.
ولدت نيهال جاندان، واسمها الحقيقي غُلنهال جاندان، في يونيو 1995، ودرست القانون في جامعة بيكنت بإسطنبول، لكنها فضّلت عالم الشهرة على السلك القانوني. دخلت الأضواء من بوابة برنامج تلفزيون الواقع الشهير «Bu Tarz Benim» (هذا أسلوبي)، الذي عُرض على قناة TV8، حيث اشتهرت بإطلالاتها الجريئة وشخصيتها المثيرة للجدل.
استثمرت نيهال شهرتها في إنشاء قاعدة جماهيرية على منصات التواصل الاجتماعي، وركزت محتواها على الموضة وأسلوب الحياة.
غير أن مجدها الإعلامي تلاشى بعد تورطها في قضية احتيال شهيرة، شملت مجموعة من الأسماء المعروفة، إذ اتُهمت مع آخرين بجمع نحو 10 ملايين ليرة تركية من 13 شخصاً عبر خدعة مزادات سيارات حكومية، دون تسليم المركبات أو إعادة الأموال. وفي نوفمبر 2023، أُوقف 6 متهمين واعتُقل 5 منهم، من بينهم نيهال وأختها، بتهمة «الاحتيال المنظم».
ورغم الإفراج عنها لاحقاً لأسباب صحية، لم تستطع نيهال تجاوز آثار التجربة، لتطوي صفحتها الأخيرة وسط حزن واسع عبّر عنه جمهورها وأصدقاؤها.
The famous Turkish influencer Nihal Candan passed away at the age of 30 after a bitter struggle with anorexia, which led to a severe deterioration in her health, as her weight had dropped to just 23 kilograms before her death.
Her friend, influencer Sila Dogu, confirmed the news of her death through a brief post on social media, stating: "We lost Nihal," in an announcement that shocked her followers.
Nihal had recently been transferred to the intensive care unit of a hospital in Istanbul after suffering a heart attack for the second time. Despite the doctors' attempts to revive her, she later passed away.
Her body was buried after the noon prayer at the Barbaros Hayreddin Pasha Mosque in the Levent area of Istanbul, and she was laid to rest in the family cemetery, according to her family.
Nihal Candan's health deterioration began about two years ago, following the arrest of her and her sister, Alicia Bahar Candan, in November 2023, in connection with a fraud and "money laundering" case.
During her detention, Nihal exhibited symptoms of an eating disorder, which led to a decline in her physical and mental condition, with her weight dropping to 37 kilograms. Based on a medical report, she was later released for health reasons.
Despite her attempts to regain her normal life after being released from prison and celebrating her birthday, her condition did not improve, and her suffering continued until it reached a critical stage that required her to be hospitalized again, with her life becoming entirely dependent on vital machines, according to her mother, Amut Candan.
Amid this crisis, her father, Professor Hakan Candan, suffered a severe heart attack due to the psychological stress related to his daughter's condition, which added to the family's ordeal.
Nihal Candan, whose real name is Gulnahal Candan, was born in June 1995 and studied law at Beykent University in Istanbul, but she preferred the world of fame over a legal career. She entered the spotlight through the popular reality TV show "Bu Tarz Benim" (This Is My Style), which aired on TV8, where she became known for her bold appearances and controversial personality.
Nihal leveraged her fame to build a fan base on social media platforms, focusing her content on fashion and lifestyle.
However, her media glory faded after being involved in a high-profile fraud case that included a number of well-known names, as she was accused, along with others, of collecting around 10 million Turkish lira from 13 people through a scam involving government car auctions, without delivering the vehicles or returning the money. In November 2023, six suspects were detained, and five of them, including Nihal and her sister, were arrested on charges of "organized fraud."
Despite being released later for health reasons, Nihal could not overcome the effects of the experience, closing her final chapter amid widespread sadness expressed by her audience and friends.
