شهد سجن «مركز العدالة في نيو أورلينز» بولاية لويزيانا الأمريكية في الساعات الأولى من صباح الجمعة الماضي، عملية هروب جماعي مثيرة، حيث تمكن 10 سجناء من الفرار بطريقة محكمة تشبه سيناريوهات الأفلام.
بدأ الهروب عندما قام أحد السجناء بإزالة مرحاض معدني داخل زنزانة، ليكشف عن فتحة تؤدي إلى ممر ضيق خلف الجدار. ومن خلال هذا الممر، زحف السجناء واحداً تلو الآخر إلى رصيف تحميل مهجور، بعد ذلك، تسلقوا جداراً خارجياً محاطاً بأسلاك شائكة مستخدمين بطانيات لتفادي الإصابة، ثم عبروا الطريق السريع المؤدي إلى منطقة سكنية.
المثير في الأمر أن عملية الهروب لم تُكتشف إلا بعد مرور أكثر من سبع ساعات، أثناء العد الصباحي الروتيني في الساعة 8:30 صباحاً، ما كشف ثغرات كبيرة في النظام الأمني داخل السجن.
وقبل مغادرتهم، ترك السجناء على جدران الزنزانة عبارات ساخرة منها: «Too Easy LOL» (سهل جدًا)، «Catch us when you can» (امسكوا بنا إن استطعتم)، «We Innocent» (نحن أبرياء)، وهي رسائل تعكس استهزاءهم التام بالحراسة وإجراءات الأمن.
وتمكّنت السلطات من إلقاء القبض على ثلاثة من أصل 10 سجناء فرّوا من السجن، بينما لا يزال السبعة الآخرون طلقاء. وتُجري الأجهزة الأمنية المحلية والفيدرالية، عمليات تمشيط موسعة لتعقّب الفارين، بمشاركة مكتب التحقيقات الفيدرالي (FBI) في الوقت نفسه، أُوقف ثلاثة من موظفي السجن عن العمل مؤقتاً، للاشتباه بتورطهم في إهمال أو تواطؤ مرتبط بالحادثة.
السلطات أعلنت مكافأة تصل إلى 5,000 دولار لكل من يُدلي بمعلومات تسهم في القبض على أي من الفارين.
The "Justice Center in New Orleans" prison in Louisiana, USA, witnessed a dramatic mass escape in the early hours of last Friday morning, where 10 inmates managed to escape in a meticulously planned manner reminiscent of movie scenarios.
The escape began when one of the inmates removed a metal toilet inside the cell, revealing an opening that led to a narrow passage behind the wall. Through this passage, the inmates crawled one by one to an abandoned loading dock; after that, they climbed an outer wall surrounded by barbed wire using blankets to avoid injury, then crossed the highway leading to a residential area.
Interestingly, the escape was not discovered until more than seven hours later, during the routine morning count at 8:30 AM, which revealed significant gaps in the prison's security system.
Before leaving, the inmates left sarcastic messages on the walls of the cell, including: "Too Easy LOL," "Catch us when you can," and "We Innocent," reflecting their complete mockery of the guards and security measures.
Authorities managed to arrest three out of the 10 inmates who escaped from the prison, while the other seven remain at large. Local and federal security agencies are conducting extensive sweeps to track down the fugitives, with the participation of the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI). At the same time, three prison staff members have been suspended pending investigation for suspected negligence or complicity related to the incident.
Authorities announced a reward of up to $5,000 for anyone providing information that leads to the capture of any of the escapees.
