تجري الشرطة في سلوفينيا تحقيقاً في اختفاء تمثال برونزي للسيدة الأولى في الولايات المتحدة ميلانيا ترمب، حيث تم نشره وسرقته من مسقط رأسها.
وتم الكشف عن التمثال وهو بحجم طبيعي في عام 2020 خلال ولاية الرئيس دونالد ترمب الأولى بالقرب من سيفنيكا في وسط سلوفينيا، حيث ولدت «ميلانيا كنافس» في عام 1970.
وقد حل التمثال محل تمثال خشبي تم إشعال النار به في وقت سابق من ذلك العام.
وقالت المتحدثة باسم الشرطة ألنكا درينيك رانجوس: «تم إبلاغ الشرطة بسرقة التمثال، ونعمل على تعقب المسؤولين عن السرقة».
The police in Slovenia are investigating the disappearance of a bronze statue of the First Lady of the United States, Melania Trump, which was unveiled and stolen from her hometown.
The life-sized statue was revealed in 2020 during President Donald Trump's first term near Sevnica in central Slovenia, where "Melania Knauss" was born in 1970.
The statue replaced a wooden statue that had been set on fire earlier that year.
Police spokesperson Alenka Drenik Rangus said, "The police have been informed about the theft of the statue, and we are working to track down those responsible for the theft."
