اتهمت الحكومة الأمريكية 6 شركات صينية تعمل في مجال الذكاء الاصطناعي ب«النسخ الخبيث» لتقنيات طورتها شركات أمريكية، باستخدام أسلوب يعرف باسم «التقطير» (Distillation)، في تطور قد يزيد التوتر بين واشنطن وبكين قبيل لقاء مرتقب بين قيادتي البلدين في وقت لاحق من الشهر الجاري.
اتهامات ب«التقطير» على نطاق واسع
وقال مسؤولون أمريكيون في أجهزة إنفاذ القانون والاستخبارات إن الشركات الصينية استخدمت مخرجات نماذج ذكاء اصطناعي أمريكية لتدريب نماذجها بوتيرة أسرع وبتكلفة أقل.
ويعتمد «التقطير» على استخدام مخرجات نموذج كبير ومتقدم لتدريب نموذج أصغر وأقل تكلفة، إلا أن المسؤولين الأمريكيين اتهموا الشركات الصينية بتنفيذ عمليات «عدوانية وخبيثة وموجهة على نطاق صناعي».
استهداف نماذج شركات أمريكية كبرى
وشملت الشركات الصينية التي أشار إليها المسؤولون «DeepSeek» و«Moonshot AI» و«Alibaba»، إلى جانب شركات أخرى، فيما قالت واشنطن إن العمليات استهدفت نماذج طورتها «Anthropic» و«OpenAI» و«Google» و«SpaceX».
وأضاف المسؤولون أن تلك الأنشطة جرت، على الأرجح، بعلم الحكومة الصينية، معتبرين أن الاستفادة من قدرات النماذج الأمريكية قد تسهم في خفض تكاليف البحث والتطوير وتسريع تطوير القدرات الصينية في الذكاء الاصطناعي.
توتر تقني جديد بين واشنطن وبكين
وتأتي الاتهامات في وقت تستعد فيه الولايات المتحدة والصين لإجراء محادثات تتعلق بسلامة الذكاء الاصطناعي، وسط تنافس متزايد بين البلدين على تطوير النماذج المتقدمة والرقائق والبنية التحتية المرتبطة بها.
كما تأتي قبل لقاء مرتقب بين الرئيس الأمريكي دونالد ترمب والرئيس الصيني شي جين بينغ في وقت لاحق من سبتمبر، ما يضيف ملفاً جديداً إلى الخلافات التقنية والتجارية بين القوتين.
ولم يصدر تعليق فوري من السفارة الصينية في واشنطن على الاتهامات الأمريكية، بحسب رويترز.
The U.S. government has accused six Chinese companies operating in the field of artificial intelligence of "malicious copying" of technologies developed by American companies, using a method known as "distillation," in a development that may increase tensions between Washington and Beijing ahead of an anticipated meeting between the leaders of the two countries later this month.
Widespread "Distillation" Accusations
U.S. officials in law enforcement and intelligence stated that the Chinese companies used outputs from American AI models to train their own models more quickly and at a lower cost.
"Distillation" relies on using the outputs of a large, advanced model to train a smaller, less expensive model, but U.S. officials accused the Chinese companies of conducting "aggressive, malicious, and industrial-scale targeted operations."
Targeting Major American Company Models
The Chinese companies mentioned by the officials include "DeepSeek," "Moonshot AI," and "Alibaba," among others, while Washington stated that the operations targeted models developed by "Anthropic," "OpenAI," "Google," and "SpaceX."
Officials added that these activities likely occurred with the knowledge of the Chinese government, considering that benefiting from the capabilities of American models could help reduce research and development costs and accelerate the development of Chinese capabilities in artificial intelligence.
New Technical Tension Between Washington and Beijing
The accusations come at a time when the United States and China are preparing to hold talks regarding AI safety, amid increasing competition between the two countries to develop advanced models, chips, and the associated infrastructure.
They also come ahead of an anticipated meeting between U.S. President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping later in September, adding a new issue to the technical and trade disputes between the two powers.
No immediate comment was issued by the Chinese embassy in Washington regarding the U.S. accusations, according to Reuters.
