The Saudi Football Federation announced the formation of the Election Committee following the extraordinary General Assembly held on July 8, 2026, and based on the provisions of the bylaws and the election regulations, specifically Article (5), paragraphs (1) and (4).

The committee includes Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Qunai'an as the Chairman of the Election Committee, in addition to the membership of Bandar bin Abdulhadi Al-Humaidani, Dr. Ahmed bin Mohammed Banahma, and Dr. Abdulaziz bin Mohammed Al-Fadhli, while Issa bin Rabea Al-Rais will serve as the Secretary of the committee.

The federation clarified that the Election Committee will announce the timeline for the electoral process in the coming days, including the stages and organizational procedures related to the upcoming elections, in accordance with the approved systems and regulations.

This step comes following Yasser Al-Mashel's announcement of his resignation from the presidency of the Saudi Football Federation, after the Saudi national team exited the 2026 World Cup, marking the beginning of a new phase in which the federation will reorganize its administrative scene in preparation for the upcoming electoral entitlement.
