خسر فريق الخليج السعودي نهائي البطولة الآسيوية للأندية لكرة اليد أمام برقان الكويتي بنتيجة 34-32، في المواجهة النهائية التي انتهت قبل قليل في صالة الشيخ سعد العبدالله الصباح، بعد مباراة مثيرة امتدت إلى شوطين إضافيين.
وشهد اللقاء تنافساً كبيراً بين الفريقين، وتبادلا التقدم على مدار شوطي المباراة، قبل أن يفرض التعادل نفسه بنتيجة 27-27 مع نهاية الوقت الأصلي، ليحتكم الطرفان إلى شوطين إضافيين لحسم هوية البطل.
وفي الوقت الإضافي، تمكن برقان من استغلال الفرص الحاسمة والتقدم بفارق هدفين، محافظاً على أفضليته حتى صافرة النهاية التي أعلنت فوزه بنتيجة 34-32 وتتويجه باللقب الآسيوي.
واكتفى الخليج بالمركز الثاني والميدالية الفضية، ليفقد اللقب القاري للمرة الثانية على التوالي بعدما حل وصيفاً أيضاً في النسخة الماضية، رغم المستويات المميزة التي قدمها خلال مشاركتيه الأخيرتين في البطولة مؤكداً مكانته كأحد أبرز أندية القارة الآسيوية، بعد وصوله إلى النهائي للمرة الثالثة توالياً ومواصلته المنافسة على اللقب حتى اللحظات الأخيرة من المباراة النهائية.

The match witnessed intense competition between the two teams, who exchanged leads throughout the two halves of the game, before a tie was established at 27-27 at the end of the regular time, leading both sides to two extra periods to determine the champion.
In the extra time, Burgan managed to capitalize on crucial opportunities and took a two-goal lead, maintaining their advantage until the final whistle that declared their victory with a score of 34-32 and crowned them with the Asian title.
Al-Khaleej settled for second place and the silver medal, losing the continental title for the second consecutive time after also finishing as runners-up in the previous edition, despite the impressive levels they showcased during their last two participations in the championship, confirming their status as one of the top clubs in the Asian continent, after reaching the final for the third consecutive time and continuing to compete for the title until the last moments of the final match.
