ألغى الاتحاد الدولي لكرة القدم (فيفا) تذاكر مباريات في كأس العالم 2026 كانت قد صدرت لنحو 60 مشجعاً دون مقابل نتيجة خلل تقني في نظام الحجز الإلكتروني، مطالباً أصحابها بإعادة استكمال عملية الشراء وسداد القيمة الفعلية للتذاكر.
وأوضح «فيفا» أن التذاكر تأكد حجزها بقيمة صفر دولار بسبب مشكلة فنية مرتبطة بعملية الدفع أثناء إتمام إجراءات الشراء عبر المنصة الرسمية، مشيراً إلى أن التذاكر ما زالت محفوظة للمشجعين المتضررين، الذين تلقوا إشعارات رسمية لاستكمال سداد المبالغ المستحقة.
وأكد الاتحاد الدولي في بيان رسمي أسفه للخطأ التقني وما ترتب عليه من إرباك للمشجعين، مشدداً على أن حقوقهم في الحصول على التذاكر لا تزال قائمة شريطة إتمام عملية الدفع وفق الأسعار المعتمدة.
ويأتي هذا التطور في ظل استمرار الجدل حول آلية بيع تذاكر كأس العالم 2026، في وقت تخضع فيه بعض ممارسات التسعير والتوزيع لعمليات مراجعة وتحقيق من قبل السلطات المختصة في ولايتي نيويورك ونيوجيرسي بشأن مدى توافقها مع قوانين حماية المستهلك.
وبحسب المراسلات الموجهة إلى المشترين، فإن التذاكر المتأثرة بالخلل طُرحت عبر الموقع الرسمي للبطولة في 21 مايو الماضي، وذلك بعد أكثر من 3 أشهر من إعلان رئيس الاتحاد الدولي جياني إنفانتينو نفاد تذاكر جميع مباريات البطولة البالغ عددها 104 مباريات.
ورغم تلك التصريحات، لا تزال تذاكر عدد من مباريات المونديال متاحة للبيع عبر المنصة الرسمية قبل انطلاق البطولة في مدينة مكسيكو سيتي الأسبوع القادم، وسط تساؤلات بشأن مستقبل سياسة التسعير الديناميكي التي اعتمدها «فيفا»، وإمكانية خفض أسعار بعض المباريات الأقل إقبالاً.
كما يدير الاتحاد الدولي منصة إعادة بيع رسمية للتذاكر يحصل من خلالها على عمولة تبلغ 15% من كل من البائع والمشتري، في خطوة تهدف إلى الحد من نشاط السوق الثانوية وتجار التذاكر، رغم استمرار توفر عدد كبير من التذاكر عبر منصات بيع أخرى.
وتُعد أسعار تذاكر نسخة 2026 الأعلى في تاريخ كأس العالم، إذ يبرر «فيفا» هذه السياسة بكونها تسهم في تعزيز العوائد المالية المخصصة لدعم برامج تطوير كرة القدم وتمويل الاتحادات الوطنية الأعضاء حول العالم.
وشهدت النسخة الحالية تحولاً في آلية إدارة ملف التذاكر، بعدما تولى الاتحاد الدولي بصورة مباشرة مسؤولية التسعير والبيع، خلافاً للنموذج المعمول به في النسخ السابقة الذي كان يعتمد بدرجة أكبر على اللجان المنظمة المحلية في الدول المستضيفة. وكانت الولايات المتحدة وكندا والمكسيك قد تعهدت عند حصولها على حق استضافة البطولة عام 2018 بطرح مئات الآلاف من تذاكر دور المجموعات بأسعار تبدأ من 21 دولاراً.
The International Football Federation (FIFA) has canceled tickets for matches in the 2026 World Cup that were issued to about 60 fans for free due to a technical glitch in the electronic booking system, asking the holders to complete the purchase process and pay the actual value of the tickets.
FIFA clarified that the tickets were confirmed to be reserved at a value of zero dollars due to a technical issue related to the payment process during the completion of the purchase procedures through the official platform, noting that the tickets are still reserved for the affected fans, who have received official notifications to complete the payment of the outstanding amounts.
The international federation expressed in an official statement its regret for the technical error and the confusion it caused for fans, emphasizing that their rights to obtain the tickets remain valid provided that the payment process is completed according to the approved prices.
This development comes amid ongoing controversy over the ticket sales mechanism for the 2026 World Cup, at a time when some pricing and distribution practices are under review and investigation by the relevant authorities in New York and New Jersey regarding their compliance with consumer protection laws.
According to correspondence directed to buyers, the tickets affected by the glitch were offered through the official tournament website on May 21, following more than three months after FIFA President Gianni Infantino announced that tickets for all 104 matches of the tournament had sold out.
Despite these statements, tickets for several World Cup matches are still available for sale through the official platform ahead of the tournament's kickoff in Mexico City next week, raising questions about the future of the dynamic pricing policy adopted by FIFA and the possibility of lowering prices for some less popular matches.
FIFA also operates an official ticket resale platform through which it receives a commission of 15% from both the seller and the buyer, in a move aimed at reducing the activity of the secondary market and ticket scalpers, despite the continued availability of a large number of tickets through other sales platforms.
The ticket prices for the 2026 edition are the highest in World Cup history, with FIFA justifying this policy by stating that it contributes to enhancing the financial returns allocated to support football development programs and fund national member associations worldwide.
The current edition has seen a shift in the management of the ticketing process, as FIFA has directly taken responsibility for pricing and sales, unlike the model used in previous editions, which relied more on local organizing committees in the host countries. The United States, Canada, and Mexico had pledged when they secured the right to host the tournament in 2018 to offer hundreds of thousands of group stage tickets starting at $21.
