ترأس رئيس الاتحاد العربي للهجن الأمير فهد بن جلوي بن عبدالعزيز بن مساعد أمس اجتماع الجمعية العمومية للاتحاد العربي للهجن، الذي عُقد في العاصمة البحرينية المنامة، بحضور ومشاركة اتحاد الاتحادات الرياضية العربية، واتحاد اللجان الأولمبية العربية، وممثلي الاتحادات العربية الأعضاء في الاتحاد.
وناقشت الجمعية عدداً من الموضوعات المدرجة على جدول الأعمال، في مقدمتها تشكيل لجان الاتحاد العربي للهجن، وإطلاق الموقع الإلكتروني للاتحاد بحلّته الجديدة، إضافة إلى اعتماد استضافة شرم الشيخ المصرية بطولة العرب الثالثة للهجن 2026، واعتماد الموعد الجديد للبطولة الأولى للهجانة العرب في مدينة طانطان بالمملكة المغربية خلال شهر مايو 2026.
وشهد الاجتماع الإعلان عن طلب إدراج رياضة سباقات الهجن ضمن برنامج دورة الألعاب الرياضية العربية السادسة عشرة (البحرين 2027)، إلى جانب مناقشة روزنامة الاتحادات العربية الأعضاء، وروزنامة الاتحاد العربي للهجن لموسم (2025-2026).
وفي ختام الاجتماع، رفع الأمير فهد بن جلوي خالص الشكر والتقدير لحكومة المملكة العربية السعودية، بقيادة خادم الحرمين الشريفين وولي عهده الأمين، ولوزير الرياضة الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز، على دعمهم غير المحدود لرياضة الهجن على المستويين الوطني والعربي، ورعايتهم واحتضانهم للاتحاد، بما يسهم في تعزيز مكانة رياضة الهجن بين الدول العربية.
وقدّم شكره للجنة الأولمبية البحرينية، مستضيفة الجمعية العمومية، على ما لقيه رئيس وأعضاء الجمعية والضيوف من حفاوة وكرم ضيافة.
وقال: «أنتهز هذه المناسبة للتهنئة بالعيد الوطني لمملكة البحرين، الذي احتفلنا به جميعاً قبل 3 أيام، متمنياً لمملكة البحرين مزيداً من التقدم والازدهار في ظل قيادة الملك حمد بن عيسى آل خليفة، وولي عهده الأمير سلمان بن حمد آل خليفة».
The President of the Arab Federation for Camel Racing, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaid, chaired yesterday the General Assembly meeting of the Arab Federation for Camel Racing, which was held in the Bahraini capital, Manama, with the attendance and participation of the Union of Arab Sports Federations, the Union of Arab Olympic Committees, and representatives of the Arab federations that are members of the federation.
The assembly discussed several topics on the agenda, foremost among them the formation of committees for the Arab Federation for Camel Racing, the launch of the federation's new website, as well as the approval to host the third Arab Camel Racing Championship in Sharm El Sheikh, Egypt, in 2026, and the new date for the first Arab Camel Racing Championship in the city of Tan-Tan in the Kingdom of Morocco in May 2026.
The meeting witnessed the announcement of a request to include camel racing in the program of the 16th Arab Sports Games (Bahrain 2027), in addition to discussing the calendars of the member Arab federations and the calendar of the Arab Federation for Camel Racing for the 2025-2026 season.
At the conclusion of the meeting, Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and his trustworthy Crown Prince, and to the Minister of Sports, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, for their unlimited support for camel racing at both the national and Arab levels, and for their sponsorship and hosting of the federation, which contributes to enhancing the status of camel racing among Arab countries.
He also thanked the Bahrain Olympic Committee, the host of the General Assembly, for the warm welcome and generous hospitality extended to the president, members of the assembly, and guests.
He said: "I take this opportunity to congratulate the Kingdom of Bahrain on its National Day, which we all celebrated three days ago, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress and prosperity under the leadership of King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa and his Crown Prince, Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa."
