تأجل انطلاق الشوط الثاني من مباراة منتخبي السعودية والإمارات، التي تُقام لتحديد صاحب المركز الثالث والميدالية البرونزية في بطولة كأس العرب 2025، المقامة حاليا في دولة قطر، وذلك بسبب سوء الأحوال الجوية وهطول أمطار غزيرة على العاصمة الدوحة.
وشهد استاد خليفة الدولي بمدينة الريان تساقطا كثيفا للأمطار منذ انطلاق اللقاء، إلا أن الشوط الأول أُقيم بصورة طبيعية، دون تأثير مباشر على سير اللعب أو أداء اللاعبين، قبل أن ينتهي بالتعادل السلبي بين المنتخبين. ومع توجه اللاعبين إلى غرف الملابس بين الشوطين، ازدادت حدة الأمطار بشكل ملحوظ، ما أدى إلى تدهور حالة أرضية الملعب وتجمع المياه في بعض أجزائه.
وبناءً على ذلك، قرر حكم المباراة تأجيل بداية الشوط الثاني بشكل مؤقت، حفاظا على سلامة اللاعبين، إلى حين تحسن الظروف الجوية وتجهيز أرضية الملعب بشكل يسمح باستئناف اللقاء. وخلال فترة التوقف، باشرت فرق الصيانة أعمالها لسحب المياه المتراكمة، بينما بقي اللاعبون والأجهزة الفنية في غرف الملابس بانتظار القرار النهائي.
وكان المنتخبان قد بلغا مباراة تحديد المركز الثالث بعد خروجهما من الدور نصف النهائي، إذ خسر المنتخب السعودي أمام نظيره الأردني بهدف دون مقابل، فيما ودع المنتخب الإماراتي البطولة عقب هزيمته أمام المغرب بثلاثة أهداف نظيفة.

Both teams reached the third-place playoff after being eliminated from the semifinals, with the Saudi team losing to their Jordanian counterparts by a goal to nil, while the UAE team exited the tournament after being defeated by Morocco with a score of three goals to none.
