ذكرت وكالة «فرانس برس» أنه تم استدعاء كريستيانو رونالدو جونيور، نجل قائد المنتخب البرتغالي ولاعب النصر السعودي، لارتداء قميص منتخب بلاده تحت 16 سنة للمرة الأولى، بعد أن خاض أولى مبارياته مع منتخب تحت 15 عاماً في مايو الماضي وسجل هدفاً أمام كرواتيا.
وورد اسم «كريستيانينو» في قائمة من 22 لاعباً استدعاها المدرب فيليبي راموس، للمشاركة في كأس الاتحادات، وهي بطولة مقررة في تركيا بين 27 أكتوبر و5 نوفمبر وتشمل ثلاث مباريات أمام تركيا وإنجلترا وويلز.
وأثار استدعاء كريستيانو جونيور (15 عاماً) اهتماماً إعلامياً واسعاً لمواكبة ما إذا كان سيسير على خطى والده كريستيانو (40 عاماً) أفضل لاعب في العالم خمس مرات.
وكان كشافو عدة أندية، على غرار مانشستر يونايتد وتوتنهام الإنجليزيين وبايرن ميونيخ وبوروسيا دورتموند الألمانيين، قد انتقلوا إلى كرواتيا لمتابعة المباراة الأخيرة لكريستيانو جونيور بحسب تقارير صحفية.
ويلعب كريستيانو جونيور حالياً في مركز الظهير الأيسر مع نادي النصر السعودي.
The French news agency "AFP" reported that Cristiano Ronaldo Jr., the son of the captain of the Portuguese national team and player for Al Nassr, has been called up to wear his country's under-16 team jersey for the first time, after playing his first match with the under-15 team last May and scoring a goal against Croatia.
The name "Christianinho" appeared on a list of 22 players called up by coach Felipe Ramos to participate in the Federation Cup, a tournament scheduled to take place in Turkey from October 27 to November 5, which includes three matches against Turkey, England, and Wales.
The call-up of Cristiano Jr. (15 years old) has generated significant media interest to see if he will follow in the footsteps of his father Cristiano (40 years old), a five-time world player of the year.
Scouts from several clubs, including English teams Manchester United and Tottenham, as well as German teams Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, reportedly traveled to Croatia to watch Cristiano Jr.'s last match.
Cristiano Jr. currently plays as a left-back for Al Nassr.
