أعلن ترايثلون السعودية توقيع اتفاقية إستراتيجية مع بطل الترايثلون الأولمبي البريطاني أليستير براونلي؛ للعمل كمستشار فني وإستراتيجي، ضمن الجهود لتطوير رياضة الترايثلون في المملكة، وذلك في إطار المساعي لبناء منظومة رياضية مستدامة وشاملة.
وسيقوم براونلي المتُوج بميداليتين ذهبيتين أولمبيتين في دورتي الألعاب الأولمبية لندن (2012)، وريو دي جانيرو (2016)، بتقديم الدعم الفني وتطوير البرامج التدريبية، إلى جانب العمل المباشر مع الرياضيين والمدربين والبرامج المجتمعية، وذلك سعيًا لتطوير المسار الرياضي، الذي يركّز على توسيع قاعدة المشاركة المجتمعية، ورعاية المواهب، وتهيئة الرياضيين لتحقيق أداء فني عالمي.
وأكد نائب رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير فهد بن جلوي أن الرياضة اليوم أصبحت جزءًا أساسيًا من قصة الوطن، الذي نشهد في مختلف أنحائها مشاركة غير مسبوقة واهتمامًا متزايدًا برياضات لم تكن تحظى سابقًا بوجود كبير، ومن بينها رياضة الترايثلون، مبينًا أن هذه الشراكة تُجسد التزامهم بتوسيع فرص المشاركة، وفتح آفاق جديدة، وتقديم الفرص للأجيال القادمة للتميّز.
من جانبه أوضح رئيس مجلس إدارة ترايثلون السعودية مشعل السليمان، أن هذا التعاون يمثل خطوة رئيسية في بناء الأساس لتلك الرياضة، مشيرًا إلى أن براونلي سيعمل عن قرب مع فريق ترايثلون السعودية، على تصميم أنظمة تطوير طويلة المدى، ترتكز على الأداء وتُتاح للجميع في الوقت ذاته، إضافة إلى تأسيس هيكل فني لضمان تحقيق النجاحات في المستقبل.

Triathlon Saudi Arabia announced the signing of a strategic agreement with British Olympic triathlon champion Alistair Brownlee to serve as a technical and strategic advisor, as part of efforts to develop the sport of triathlon in the Kingdom, within the framework of initiatives to build a sustainable and inclusive sports ecosystem.
Brownlee, who is adorned with two Olympic gold medals from the London (2012) and Rio de Janeiro (2016) Olympic Games, will provide technical support and develop training programs, in addition to working directly with athletes, coaches, and community programs, in an effort to enhance the sports pathway that focuses on expanding community participation, nurturing talent, and preparing athletes to achieve world-class performance.
His Royal Highness Prince Fahd bin Jiluwi, Vice President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, confirmed that sports today have become an essential part of the nation's story, as we witness unprecedented participation and growing interest in sports that previously had little presence, including triathlon. He indicated that this partnership embodies their commitment to expanding participation opportunities, opening new horizons, and providing opportunities for future generations to excel.
For his part, Mishal Al-Sulaiman, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Triathlon Saudi Arabia, explained that this collaboration represents a key step in building the foundation for the sport, noting that Brownlee will work closely with the Triathlon Saudi Arabia team to design long-term development systems based on performance that are accessible to everyone at the same time, in addition to establishing a technical structure to ensure future successes.
