تلقت الكرة الإنجليزية خبراً حزيناً بوفاة لاعب شيستر سيتي بيلي فيغار لاعب أرسنال السابق عن عمر يناهز 21 عاماً، بعد أن تعرض لإصابة خطيرة في رأسه أثناء لقاء شيستر سيتي ووينغيت آند فينشلي، وتم نقله للعناية المركزة ومن ثم تم إعلان وفاته أمس (الخميس).
وقدم نادي أرسنال في بيان رسمي عبر موقعه تعازي جميع أفراد نادي أرسنال لكرة القدم، ويشعرون بأسف عميق لخبر الوفاة المأساوية لمهاجم شيستر سيتي ولاعب أكاديمية أرسنال السابق، بيلي فيغار.
وتطرق البيان لمسيرة اللاعب: «انضم بيلي إلى أكاديميتنا في سن 14 عامًا، بعد أن تم اكتشافه في نادي مسقط رأسه هوف ريفيرفيل إف سي، وتألق كمهاجم في هيل إند، حيث سجل 17 هدفًا في موسمه الأول. في عام 2020، حصل على منحة دراسية بفضل أدائه المتميز وانضم إلينا بدوام كامل للموسم 2020/21، وكان من بين زملائه الحاليين تشارلز ساغو جونيور وريمي ميتشل وآخرون مثل أوماري هاتشينسون وتشارلي باتينو وبروك نورتون-كافي».
واختتم البيان قائلاً: «بالإضافة إلى موهبته الكبيرة، سيبقى بيلي في ذاكرتنا دائمًا لحبه للعب كرة القدم وفخره بتمثيل نادينا - فقد وصف يوم اكتشافه من قبل كشافينا بأنه»أهم يوم في حياته«- ولشخصيته المحبوبة من قبل زملائه في الفريق والمدربين على حد سواء، نتقدم بخالص تعازينا إلى عائلة فيغار وأصدقائه الكثر في هذا الوقت العصيب».

The English football community received the sad news of the passing of Chester City player Billy Vigar, a former Arsenal player, at the age of 21, after suffering a serious head injury during the Chester City match against Wingate & Finchley. He was transferred to intensive care and was pronounced dead yesterday (Thursday).
Arsenal FC expressed their condolences in an official statement on their website, feeling deep sorrow for the tragic news of the passing of Chester City striker and former Arsenal Academy player, Billy Vigar.
The statement touched on the player's career: "Billy joined our academy at the age of 14 after being discovered at his hometown club, Hove Rivervale FC, and shone as a striker at Hill End, where he scored 17 goals in his first season. In 2020, he received a scholarship due to his outstanding performance and joined us full-time for the 2020/21 season, alongside current teammates Charles Sago Jr., Remi Mitchell, and others like Omari Hutchinson, Charlie Patino, and Brooke Norton-Cuffy."
