فجر الزلفي واحدة من أكبر المفاجآت في مسابقة كأس خادم الحرمين الشريفين، بعد فوزه على ضيفه الفيحاء بركلات الترجيح 4/ 3 (الأشواط الأصلية والإضافية 0/ 0)، في اللقاء الذي جمع بينهما على ملعب نادي الزلفي ضمن لقاءات دور الـ32 من المسابقة.
بدأ اللقاء قوياً من جانب الفيحاء وواجه المهاجم سيلفا جانفولا مرمى الزلفي وسددها قوية ولكن الحارس سعد الصالح تصدى لها ببراعة ليؤكد رغبته القوية في الحفاظ على نظافة شباكه، ومن هجمة مرتدة منظمة تمكن كشيم القحطاني من هز شباك الفيحاء لكن راية التسلل كانت حاضرة، وعاد الفيحاء ليهدد مرمى الزلفي مجدداً ومن ركلة زاوية قفز فاشون ساكالا للكرة ولعبها برأسه وتصدى لها الصالح ومن ثم ارتطمت في القائم، ليستمر التعادل ويلجأ الفريقان لركلات الترجيح، ليتألق الحارس سعد الصالح بالتصدي لركلتَي ترجيح ويقود فريقه للفوز بنتيجة 4/ 3، ليتأهل الزلفي لدور الـ16، ويغادر الفيحاء منافسات المسابقة.

Al-Zulfi's dawn is one of the biggest surprises in the King Abdulaziz Cup competition, after defeating its guest Al-Fayha in a penalty shootout 4/3 (the original and extra time ended 0/0), in the match that took place at Al-Zulfi Club's stadium as part of the Round of 32 of the tournament.
The match started strongly from Al-Fayha's side, and striker Silva Janfola faced Al-Zulfi's goal and shot powerfully, but goalkeeper Saad Al-Saleh brilliantly saved it, confirming his strong desire to keep his net clean. From an organized counterattack, Kashim Al-Qahtani managed to shake the net of Al-Fayha, but the offside flag was raised.
