تحت رعاية ولي العهد رئيس مجلس الوزراء الأمير محمد بن سلمان بن عبدالعزيز، أقيم اليوم الحفل الختامي لمهرجان ولي العهد للهجن في نسخته السابعة، الذي ينظِّمه الاتحاد السعودي للهجن بميدان الطائف لسباقات الهجن.
وتوّج نائب أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة الأمير سعود بن مشعل بن عبدالعزيز الفائزين، إذ شهد اليوم الختامي إقامة أربعة أشواط على مسافة 6 كيلومترات، شاركت بها نخبة من المطايا، البالغ عددها 100 مطية، وسط تنافسٍ كبير بين ملاك الهجن المحليين والدوليين، إذ خُصصت جوائز مالية تتجاوز قيمتها الإجمالية 50 مليون ريال، تُمنح لملاك الهجن المحلية والدولية الفائزين بأشواط السباقات المتنوعة.
وبهذه المناسبة، رفع وزير الرياضة رئيس اللجنة الأولمبية والبارالمبية السعودية الأمير عبدالعزيز بن تركي بن فيصل بن عبدالعزيز، خالص الشكر والامتنان لولي العهد على رعايته الكريمة للحفل الختامي.
وقال في تصريح صحفي: «إن رعاية ولي العهد للحفل الختامي لهذا المهرجان الكبير تؤكد حرصه ودعمه المستمر للقطاع الرياضي بشكل عام، واهتمامه برياضة الهجن العريقة، بوصفها موروثاً أصيلاً يُجسّد جانباً من ثقافة المملكة العربية السعودية، وتُعد خير تتويجٍ للرياضيين، خصوصاً محبي هذه الرياضة، كما أتقدم بالشكر الجزيل لنائب أمير منطقة مكة المكرمة على حضوره الحفل وتتويجه للفائزين».
وقد فازت بالشوط الأول المطية «سياف» فئة زمول عام لمالكها السعودي محمد جارالله المري، وحصل على جائزة مالية قدرها مليون ريال وبندقية، فيما فازت بالشوط الثاني المطية «مبهوج» فئة زمول مفتوح لهجن الشحانية من قطر، وحصل على جائزة مالية قدرها مليون ريال وبندقية، فيما حازت المطية «أريام» فئة حيل عام لمالكها القطري فاران عتيق المري على لقب الشوط الثالث، وجائزة مالية قدرها مليون و500 ألف ريال وسيف، فيما تفوقت بالشوط الرابع المطية «نشبه» فئة حيل مفتوح لهجن الشحانية من قطر، وظفرت بجائزة مالية قدرها مليون و500 ألف ريال وسيف.
يذكر أن المهرجان انطلق في الثاني من سبتمبر الجاري، وشهد إقامة 249 شوطاً، للفئات (مفاريد، وحقايق، ولقايا، وجذاع، وثنايا، وحيل، وزمول).
Under the patronage of His Royal Highness Crown Prince and Prime Minister Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the closing ceremony of the Crown Prince Camel Festival in its seventh edition was held today, organized by the Saudi Camel Federation at the Taif Camel Racing Track.
The Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region, Prince Saud bin Mishal bin Abdulaziz, crowned the winners, as the final day witnessed the holding of four races over a distance of 6 kilometers, featuring a select group of 100 camels, amidst intense competition among local and international camel owners. Financial prizes exceeding a total value of 50 million riyals were allocated for the winning owners of both local and international camels in the various racing heats.
On this occasion, the Minister of Sports and President of the Saudi Olympic and Paralympic Committee, Prince Abdulaziz bin Turki bin Faisal bin Abdulaziz, expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Crown Prince for his generous sponsorship of the closing ceremony.
He stated in a press statement: “The Crown Prince's sponsorship of the closing ceremony of this grand festival confirms his commitment and continuous support for the sports sector in general, and his interest in the ancient sport of camel racing, as it embodies an authentic heritage that reflects a part of the culture of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. It is a fitting tribute to the athletes, especially the enthusiasts of this sport. I would also like to extend my heartfelt thanks to the Deputy Emir of the Makkah Region for attending the ceremony and crowning the winners.”
The camel "Siyaf" won the first race in the general male category, owned by the Saudi Mohammed Jarallah Al-Mari, and received a cash prize of one million riyals and a rifle. The camel "Mabhuj" won the second race in the open male category for the Al-Shahaniya camels from Qatar, receiving a cash prize of one million riyals and a rifle. The camel "Ariyam," in the general female category, owned by the Qatari Faran Atiq Al-Mari, claimed the title of the third race, along with a cash prize of one million and 500 thousand riyals and a sword. In the fourth race, the camel "Nashbah" won in the open female category for the Al-Shahaniya camels from Qatar, securing a cash prize of one million and 500 thousand riyals and a sword.
It is worth mentioning that the festival kicked off on September 2nd and featured 249 races across various categories (Mafarid, Haqayeq, Luqaya, Jadh'a, Thaniya, Hail, and Zumool).
