تصدّر رئيس مجلس إدارة الهيئة العامة للترفيه (GEA) المستشار تركي بن عبدالمحسن آل الشيخ، قائمة مجلة Boxing News كأقوى شخصية مؤثرة في عالم الملاكمة للعام الثاني على التوالي، في تقدير عالمي يعكس المكانة التي وصلت إليها المملكة العربية السعودية بدعم من قيادتها في استضافة وتنظيم أبرز الأحداث الرياضية.
وقاد آل الشيخ خلال السنوات الأخيرة تحولًا كبيرًا في مشهد الملاكمة الدولية عبر استقطاب أقوى النزالات العالمية إلى الرياض، مقدمًا للجماهير مواجهات تاريخية جمعت أبرز الأبطال وصنّاع القرار.
وبحسب المجلة العريقة، أعاد المستشار تركي آل الشيخ إطلاق مجلة The Ring بروح جديدة، ونجح في إعادة هيكلة نظام تسعير منصة البث العالمية DAZN لتلبية متطلبات الجماهير، إضافة إلى تحقيق إنجاز استثنائي بجمع قطبي الترويج إيدي هيرن وفرانك وارن في تعاون طالما عُدّ مستحيلًا.
ويُجسّد هذا التتويج الحراك الرياضي المتسارع في مجال الملاكمة بالعاصمة الرياض، إذ يُعيد تشكيل ملامح الملاكمة الحديثة، ويعزّز مكانة المملكة كمركزٍ ريادي على الساحة الرياضية الدولية، بما ينسجم مع مستهدفات رؤية المملكة 2030.
يذكر أن القائمة، احتوت عدة أسماء مهمة في عالم الملاكمة، منها مروج الملاكمة البريطاني فرانك وارن الذي جاء في المركز الثاني، ومنافسه إيدي هرنفي في المركز الثالث، ونظيرهم الأمريكي بوب آروم في المركز الرابع، بينما جاء في المركز الخامس الملاكم المكسيكي كانيلوالفاريز الذي يخوض نزالًا مهمًا في سبتمبر القادم أمام الأمريكي ترنسكروفورد في مواجهة ستكون حديث العالم.
The Chairman of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), Advisor Turki bin Abdul Mohsen Al Sheikh, topped the Boxing News magazine list as the most influential figure in the boxing world for the second consecutive year, in a global recognition that reflects the status achieved by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia with the support of its leadership in hosting and organizing major sporting events.
In recent years, Al Sheikh has led a significant transformation in the international boxing scene by attracting the strongest global bouts to Riyadh, providing fans with historic matchups featuring top champions and decision-makers.
According to the prestigious magazine, Advisor Turki Al Sheikh has relaunched The Ring magazine with a new spirit and successfully restructured the pricing system of the global streaming platform DAZN to meet audience demands, in addition to achieving an exceptional milestone by bringing together the promotional giants Eddie Hearn and Frank Warren in a collaboration that has long been considered impossible.
This accolade embodies the rapid sports movement in the field of boxing in the capital, Riyadh, as it reshapes the features of modern boxing and enhances the Kingdom's position as a leading center on the international sports scene, aligning with the objectives of Vision 2030.
It is noteworthy that the list included several important names in the boxing world, including British boxing promoter Frank Warren, who came in second place, his competitor Eddie Hearn in third place, and American counterpart Bob Arum in fourth place, while Mexican boxer Canelo Alvarez, who is set to face American Terence Crawford in an important bout next September, ranked fifth in the list.
