The Saudi national team under 20 years old achieved victory against their Yemeni counterpart with a score of one goal to none, in the match that took place at Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz Sports City Stadium in Al-Mahalla during the opening of the first group matches of the Gulf Cup for Youth under 20 years old in its first edition, which is held under the umbrella of the Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation, in the city of Khamis Mushait in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.

Our national team entered the match with a lineup consisting of: Abdullah Al-Muhaysin (goalkeeper), Abdulrahman Sufiani, Awaji Al-Alwani, Mohammed Al-Sarnukh, Yasser Al-Dhafiri, Mohammed Falata, Elias Sheikh, Mohammed Al-Qahtani, Fares bin Salem, Abdulrazak Awaji, Abdulaziz Al-Shammari. The green team started the match strongly, and Fares bin Salem took a powerful shot, but it changed direction for a corner kick. The green team returned to attack again, and Mohammed Al-Qahtani played a low cross that Fares bin Salem shot directly into the net as the first goal for the Saudi team (min: 20), earning the green team its first three points in the tournament.

In the other match of the same group, the Kuwait national team drew with the Qatar national team with two goals each. The Kuwait team scored first through Mohammed Al-Mulla (min: 5), and the Qatari team equalized through Richard Robert (min: 16). Kuwait then took the lead again with a goal from Abdullah Khalifa (min: 27), and Qatar quickly equalized with a goal from Ahmed Nasser (min: 28), ending the match in a draw with two goals each, with both teams earning one point.

Our Saudi national team will face the Kuwaiti team next Sunday at exactly 7:00 PM, preceded by a match between Qatar and Yemen at 4:30 PM, as part of the second round matches of the first group.
