تواصلت، منافسات الدور ربع النهائي من بطولة الماسترز للسنوكر، والتي تستضيفها المملكة في جدة على صالة الأمير عبدالله الفيصل الرياضية، حيث واصل نجم السنوكر العالمي الإنجليزي روني أوسيلفان قلب الطاولة في وجه منافسيه، بعد أن تمكن من العودة بقوة أمام مواطنه كايرون ويلسون (المصنف الثاني عالميًا) والفوز بنتيجة 6-5.
وفي لقاء آخر، ودّع الويلزي مارك ويليامز (المصنف الثالث عالميًا)، منافسات البطولة بعد خسارة مفاجئة أمام الإنجليزي إليوت سليسور (المصنف 29) وبنتيجة 6-5، في مواجهة مثيرة حسمت في اللحظات الأخيرة.
وقدّم سليسور أداءً مميزًا أهّله ليكون على بُعد خطوة واحدة من بلوغ حلمه بالوصول إلى نهائي البطولة، حيث قال في حديثه: «فخور بتحقيق الفوز على لاعب بطل، وأشعر بسعادة وثقة كبيرة ستمنحني دافعًا قويًا قبل مواجهة نصف النهائي».
وفي ثالث المواجهات، انتزع الأسترالي نيل روبرتسون فوزًا مستحقًا على منافسه الإنجليزي علي كارتر بنتيجة 6-4، في مواجهة حافلة بالإثارة والندية، ليحجز مكانه في الدور نصف النهائي من البطولة.
وفي آخر المباريات التي كانت إنجليزية خالصة حقق كريس واكلين فوزًا صعبًا على مواطنه باري هاوكينس بنتيجة 6-5، ليكمل عقد المتأهلين إلى الدور نصف النهائي الذي ستقام منافساته اليوم الجمعة.
إلى ذلك، شهدت منافسات الخميس حضور عدد من رؤساء الاتحادات الرياضية في لعبة السنوكر، من بينهم رئيس الاتحاد العربي للبلياردو والسنوكر عمرو خرادلي، ورئيس الاتحاد الإفريقي للبليارد والسنوكر أسامة السني، وغيرهم من رؤساء اتحادات السنوكر في الدول العربية.
وامتدح رئيس الاتحاد العربي للبلياردو والسنوكر عمرو خرادلي، التنظيم والاستضافة لهذا الحدث العالمي، وقال: «التنظيم كان مثاليًا على أرض المملكة، وتم توفير كل الإمكانات لنجاح البطولة، ونحن كعرب شعرنا بالسعادة باستضافة مثل هذه البطولات العالمية في السعودية، كونها تشهد مشاركة نجوم السنوكر في العالم، ونتمنى تواجد نجومنا في الأدوار المتقدمة، والمنافسة على لقب البطولة في النسخ القادمة منها».

Slessor delivered an impressive performance that brought him one step closer to realizing his dream of reaching the final of the tournament, stating in an interview: "I am proud to have won against a champion player, and I feel a great sense of happiness and confidence that will give me a strong motivation before the semi-final match."
In the third match, Australian Neil Robertson secured a deserved victory over his English opponent Ali Carter with a score of 6-4, in a match full of excitement and competitiveness, securing his place in the semi-finals of the tournament.
In the last match, which was purely English, Chris Wakelin achieved a hard-fought victory over his compatriot Barry Hawkins with a score of 6-5, completing the lineup of those qualified for the semi-finals, which will take place today, Friday.
Additionally, Thursday's competitions witnessed the presence of several heads of sports federations in the game of snooker, including the President of the Arab Billiards and Snooker Federation, Amr Khraadli, and the President of the African Billiards and Snooker Federation, Osama Al-Sunni, along with other heads of snooker federations in Arab countries.
Amr Khraadli, President of the Arab Billiards and Snooker Federation, praised the organization and hosting of this global event, saying: "The organization was perfect in the Kingdom, and all the resources were provided for the success of the tournament. We, as Arabs, felt happy to host such global championships in Saudi Arabia, as it witnesses the participation of snooker stars from around the world, and we hope to see our stars in the advanced rounds, competing for the championship title in future editions."
