شهدت مدينة أبها، أمس، انطلاق فعاليات ماراثون «معالم» في نسخته الجديدة، بإشراف فرع وزارة الرياضة بمنطقة عسير، بمشاركة 2496 متسابقًا ومتسابقة من مختلف الجنسيات والفئات العمرية، في تجربة رياضية وثقافية واجتماعية تهدف إلى تعزيز جودة الحياة، وتشجيع أنماط الحياة الصحية، إلى جانب استكشاف أبرز المعالم الطبيعية والحضارية في منطقة عسير.
واختيرت مدينة أبها لتنظيم النسخة الحالية من الماراثون كونها إحدى أبرز الوجهات السياحية في المملكة، لما تتميز به من تنوع بيئي وثقافي وأجواء معتدلة، جعلت منها محطة مثالية لاستضافة الفعاليات الرياضية والسياحية.
وتضمّن الماراثون ثلاثة مسارات تنافسية (5 و10 كيلومترات، و21 كيلومترًا)، تنافس خلالها المشاركون في أجواء حماسية وسط تفاعل جماهيري.
وحظي الحدث بمشاركة فاعلة من الجهات الحكومية والخاصة لتسهيل تنظيم الماراثون، إلى جانب مساهمة الفرق التطوعية لضمان سلامة المشاركين. كما شاركت جمعية «اعتناء» لرعاية مرضى السكري بعدّائين من فئة مرضى السكري، في رسالة توعوية تؤكد أهمية ممارسة الرياضة للجميع.
ويُعد ماراثون «معالم» إحدى المحطات المتنقلة ضمن مبادرة «معالم ماراثون»، التي تهدف إلى تسليط الضوء على مقومات المدن السعودية من خلال أنشطة رياضية وترفيهية وثقافية تسهم في دعم السياحة الداخلية، وتحفيز التفاعل المجتمعي، وترسيخ الهوية المحلية، بما يعكس صورة المملكة وجهة رياضية وثقافية عالمية.

Yesterday, the city of Abha witnessed the launch of the "Ma'alem" Marathon in its new edition, supervised by the Ministry of Sports branch in the Asir region, with the participation of 2,496 male and female competitors from various nationalities and age groups, in a sporting, cultural, and social experience aimed at enhancing the quality of life and encouraging healthy lifestyles, as well as exploring the most prominent natural and cultural landmarks in the Asir region.
Abha was chosen to host the current edition of the marathon as it is one of the most prominent tourist destinations in the Kingdom, known for its environmental and cultural diversity and moderate climate, making it an ideal stop for hosting sporting and tourism events.
The marathon included three competitive routes (5 and 10 kilometers, and 21 kilometers), where participants competed in an enthusiastic atmosphere amidst public interaction.
The event received active participation from government and private entities to facilitate the organization of the marathon, along with the contribution of volunteer teams to ensure the safety of participants. The "Itnah" Association for Diabetes Care also participated with runners from the diabetes patient category, delivering a message that emphasizes the importance of exercising for everyone.
The "Ma'alem" Marathon is one of the mobile stations within the "Ma'alem Marathon" initiative, which aims to highlight the components of Saudi cities through sporting, recreational, and cultural activities that contribute to supporting domestic tourism, stimulating community interaction, and reinforcing local identity, reflecting the Kingdom's image as a global sporting and cultural destination.
