شهدت منافسات دور ربع النهائي من بطولة العالم للبلياردو 2025، المقامة حاليًا في الصالات الخضراء بمدينة جدة، مواجهات مثيرة وندية عالية، أسفرت عن تأهل أربعة من أبرز نجوم اللعبة إلى الدور نصف النهائي.
اللاعب الأمريكي فيدور غورست، حامل لقب البطولة في نسختي 2019 و2024، واصل عروضه القوية وتمكن من تجاوز الفلبيني جيفري رودا بنتيجة 11–4، ليحجز بطاقة التأهل إلى نصف النهائي. أما الألباني كليديو كاتشي، فخطف بطاقة العبور بعد مواجهة مثيرة أمام العراقي أمير علي، حسمها بنتيجة 11–9.
وفي مفاجأة من العيار الثقيل، أطاح الفلبيني بيرني ريغالاريو ببطل العالم لعام 2023 الإسباني فرانسيسكو سانشيث رويز، بعد أن قدّم أداءً استثنائيًا أنهاه بنتيجة 11–4. بدوره، نجح الفلبيني كارلو بيايدو، بطل العالم 2017، في تجاوز عقبة التايواني كو بينغ تشونغ بنتيجة 11–7، ليكمل عقد المتأهلين.
وتُقام مباراتا نصف النهائي اليوم (السبت)، حيث يلتقي عند الساعة الواحدة ظهرًا الفلبينيان بيرني ريغالاريو وكارلو بيايدو في مواجهة آسيوية، فيما يواجه فيدور غورست خصمه الألباني كليديو كاتشي عند الساعة الثالثة عصرًا.
وسيتأهل الفائزان إلى المباراة النهائية المقررة في تمام الساعة السابعة والنصف مساءً، والتي ستُقام بنظام «Round 6 – Race to 15»، لتحديد بطل العالم في نسخة جدة 2025، وسط ترقب جماهيري كبير لمنافسات اليوم الختامي، والتي تستضيفها المملكة العربية السعودية للعام الثاني على التوالي، بتنظيم مشترك بين وزارة الرياضة، والاتحاد السعودي للبلياردو والسنوكر، وشركة ماتشروم.

In a major upset, the Filipino Bernie Regalario knocked out the 2023 world champion, the Spaniard Francisco Sanchez Ruiz, after delivering an exceptional performance that ended with a score of 11–4. For his part, the Filipino Carlo Biado, the 2017 world champion, successfully overcame the Taiwanese Ko Pin-Chung with a score of 11–7, completing the list of qualifiers.
